General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that among GH fans there hasn’t been anything more talked about than the upcoming return of Steve Burton. Long time viewers watched Burton transform from the devote son of the Quartermaine family, about to become a doctor, fall to tragedy and turn into a mob enforcer with a new name.
There is no denying how much Steve Burton is adored but it does seem viewers are split on whether he should come back to the role he began portraying back in 1991 – Jason Quartermaine/Morgan or should he return as someone new and stay as a new character?
GH’s Steve Burton has been a fan favorite pretty much from the beginning, even taking home 2 Daytime Emmys, the first one in 1998 for Outstanding Supporting Actor in his role as Jason Quartermaine and then again in 2017 for the role of Dylan McAvoy on CBS’ The Young and the Restless.
Burton has a large fan base and following, most of whom campaigned for him to return to General Hospital the moment he left ABC and joined the rival CBS daytime drama soon after. How do you feel about Steve Burton’s imminent return?
General Hospital spoilers tease that it may be the tale of 2 Jasons, and as we are aware, Heather Webber (Robin Mattson) had already mentioned that Jason had a twin that was sold at birth – could the whole truth finally be revealed to desperate fans?
Currently, Billy Miller is playing the character of Jason Morgan and although he had very large shoes to fill when Burton left; many fans have grown to love him as Jason and would be furious if it turns out that he really is only “Jake Doe”.
Both actors bring out different sides to Jason. While Steve Burton has been more “stone cold” and powerful, never blinking an eye at trouble; Billy Miller brings forth a softer side, one more compassionate, and less willing to “shoot to kill” just because he was ordered to.
