General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) cancer diagnosis may take her somewhere unexpected – out to Spoon Island to recuperate at the Cassadine castle. GH spoilers hinted Anna’s medical issue would be life changing, but this is extraordinary.
It was at Wyndemere that Anna collapsed and Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) scooped her up and rushed her to a helicopter to get her to GH. Since Anna had suffered a blood clot from her polycythemia vera (PV) cancer, Valentin’s fast actions saved her life.
Then on Monday’s GH, Robin Scorpio (Kimberly McCullough), Griffin Munro (Matt Cohen) and Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) discussed that Anna’s condition is chronic, there is no cure, and it’s a progressive disease. That means Anna will need help and ongoing care.
Robin stepped up to volunteer but Anna declined since Robin has family back in California. Robin insisted but we know that won’t work out long-term since Kimberly McCullough is only an occasionally recurring actress on GH because of her busy commitments elsewhere.
That means Robin will be leaving soon and Anna needs someone to take care of her. That person is Valentin. He was holding her hand and kissing it while she was unconscious and when Anna woke to his attention, she kind of flipped out, but his adoration is clear.
General Hospital spoilers for later this week reveal that Valentin will continue to lurk at GH to watch over Anna and is upset about her serious and possibly fatal diagnosis. Not even Nina Cassadine’s (Michelle Stafford) jealousy will keep him away.
We already saw at the MetroCourt, the moment Nina left their bed to run a bath, Valentin grabbed his phone and called to check on Anna – even knowing Nina would be upset if she caught him. Valentin doesn’t care. He’s torn. Valentin seems to love Nina but it’s a brand-new love.
What Valentin feels for Anna is much deeper. She was his first love and rejected him, but there is more to that story than we know yet. Valentin has deep rooted feelings for Anna and GH rumors predict that is what motivates him to bring Anna home to Wyndemere to be cared for when she leaves GH.
Anna should know by now if Valentin meant her harm, she would be dead. Instead, she finds herself increasingly drawn to the handsome Greek and it doesn’t help that she’s in a fragile state and he was her shining knight that saved her life.
Anna will be hesitant but with Robin having other commitments back in California, GH sources say she will relent and allow Valentin to take her home to Spoon Island until she feels strong enough to go home. This will infuriate Nina and Griffin both – and lead to a confrontation.
Griffin doesn’t trust Valentin and is still angry that the Greek, and not him, is Charlotte Cassadine’s (Scarlett Fernandez) daddy. Griffin cares about Anna and will be vigilant, haunting Wyndemere to make sure Anna is well cared for. Nina will also snap when she hears about this.
Nina credited Valentin for being a good person and helping Anna but Nina doesn’t like this one bit. She doesn’t want Anna on her turf. Nina just got the husband and child she wanted and now Anna’s presence weakens her marriage and the custody battle threatens to take Charlotte away.
