General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Ron Carlivati has been ordered to reinvent Days of Our Lives and bring up the flagging ratings of the fourth place soap. Will Carlivati recruit some General Hospital stars to help save DOOL? If he does, who might he convince to come to the NBC soap?
Ron Carlivati has the skills to reinvent Days and many soap fans are hopeful he can do for Days what he did for General Hospital in the wake of the disastrous reign and departure of former showrunner Jill Farren Phelps. Carlivati and Frank Valentini turned GH around and NBC hopes Carlivati can do the same for DOOL.
Just as Jill Farren Phelps pulled off a coup when she lured Steve Burton to The Young and The Restless after his abrupt departure from General Hospital, perhaps Carlivati can lure some actors from his former ABC soap. But if he wanted to recruit from the General Hospital roster, who would be a good steal?
Tonja Walker
Since returning to the role of Olivia “Liv” Jerome, Tonja Walker has breathed new life into the decades-old part and fans love her energy. Tonja has expressed an interest in more soap work once her youngest daughter graduates high school this spring. Perhaps Ron Carlivati could lure Tonja over to DOOL.
Tyler Christopher
GH fans would be devastated if Ron Carlivati scored Nikolas Cassadine portrayer Tyler Christopher for Days. Tyler wanted to stay at GH but contract talks fell apart. Tyler might be prime for plucking by DOOL and it would be amazing if Carlivati could also nab Nicolas Bechtel for DOOL along with his TV dad.
Ryan Carnes
There have been persistent rumors that Ryan Carnes will leave General Hospital since his character Lucas Jones is rarely seen and GH fans agree the actor is woefully underused. Ryan might be an easy one for Carlivati to recruit from GH since he’s not getting much screen time or any meaningful storylines.
William deVry
With Liv plotting to kill Julian Jerome and GH promising a major character death soon, William deVry could be killed off. Also, his contract is supposed to be up for renewal soon. deVry has a couple of outside projects but you never know, for the right offer, he might migrate over to Days.
Carolyn Hennesy
Carolyn Hennesy is another actor that’s terribly underused on GH. Everyone loves Diane Miller and she’s got an impressive list of other acting credits so she could bring fans with her over to Days of Our Lives. Everything Hennesy does is wonderful and she would be a good get for Ron Carlivati.
Steve Burton
If Ron Carlivati could get Burton to come to Days, it would be huge. Burton has a legion of fans from GH and The Young and The Restless and these fans would tune in just to see Steve even if they never watched Days of Our Lives before. This could be a masterful move by Carlivati if he could make it happen.
