‘Fifty Shades Darker’ hasn’t even hit theaters yet, and it looks like Jamie Dornan is over it already. The Hollywood actor recently hinted that he is no Christian Grey and that he doesn’t even relate to the kind of stuff Christian does in the bedroom. Now producers are worried that Jamie might already be killing ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ box office numbers by promoting it so negatively.
Jamie Dornan plays sex-addict Christian Grey in the hit series. His co-star Dakota Johnson plays Anastasia Steele. Their first film, ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ managed to make over $300 million dollars at the box office back in 2015. But producers are worried that ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ might not even make the same amount of money.
Fans know what to expect from the film, especially since ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ ended up getting lukewarm reviews from critics. To make matters worse though, even Jamie admits that he’s not much of a Christian Grey fan himself.
Jamie even told GQ Australia, “It doesn’t float my boat. I’ve always been open-minded and liberal – I’d never judge anyone’s sexual preference. Whatever gets people off is entirely up to them and there’s a million different ways to please yourself, sexually.”
So does this mean that Jamie hates his Christian Grey character or at least disapproves of his taste and behavior? That’s what some fans can’t help but wonder. In fact, many believe that Jamie is making it rather clear that he wants to move on from ‘Fifty Shades.’ He’s ready for bigger and better Hollywood projects. At this point, even Jamie Dornan’s critics believe that he’s trying to distance himself from the franchise.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Jamie has hinted that he’s completely over Christian Grey. Back in November, he hinted that actor Ian Somerhalder should take over the role in the future. There was even a report that indicated Jamie refused to strip down for the movie because he wanted a bigger paycheck. If that weren’t enough, he also admitted that his wife Amelia Warner doesn’t want or need a Christian Grey in the bedroom.
