Justin Theroux and Jennifer Aniston are currently embroiled in a nightmarish legal battle over the renovations they are making to their luxurious Greenwich Village apartment – the couple are definitely not friends with their neighbor! According to TMZ, the “Left Behind” actor is suing a downstairs neighbor for $350,000 for “malicious harassment” that he claims has been going on for years.
It all started when the unnamed neighbor claimed the soundproofing of Jennifer Aniston and Justin’s Theroux’s apartment was not good enough and then demanded that they spend at least $30,000 to upgrade to a better soundproofing system.
When Justin and Jennifer refused, they claim the neighbor then threatened to cut the electricity and water that runs to the rooftop deck of the couple’s apartment. They also allege that the man has engaged in harassing the construction workers doing their renovations and recently he cut the ivy that grows on the exterior walls of the famous couple’s apartment.
According to Justin and Jennifer, the neighbor has also promised to run to the tabloids and “set off a public relations nightmare” for the “Friends” star if he does not get his way. Well looks like that’s already happening!
It has been a rough couple of months for the famous couple and the last thing they need is more tabloid stories about the marriage. The pair has been plagued with split rumors since last September, when Jennifer’s ex, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie announced they were getting a divorce. Brad of course famously left Jennifer after falling in love with Angelina on the set of “Mr. and Mrs.Smith”, and went on to marry and have six children while Jennifer seemed to flounder around Hollywood and earn the description as being unlucky in love.
As soon as Brad and Angelina’s breakup was announced, gossip sites ran with stories of a possible reunion between Jennifer and her ex-husband, whom many believed Jennifer was still in love with. It got worse when Jennifer’s publicist admitted that the former couple had indeed been in contact since Brad and Angelina’s separation.
During the duo’s two year marriage and previous engagement, Justin Theroux has been accused several times of neglecting Jennifer Aniston – of only being with her for the boost to his career, but nothing has ever been confirmed and the couple always seems to ignore the rumors and come through unscathed. Let’s hope they get through their legal battle the same way.
