Kate Middleton is outraged that Princess Beatrice is trying to channel her fashion and style. Royal observers couldn’t help but notice that Beatrice tried to pull a ‘Kate Middleton’ by recycling one of her old dresses during a public appearance at a global design forum in Switzerland last weekend.
The 27-year-old royal posed on the red carpet alongside film producer Caroline Rupert. She wore a floral dress by Erdem that just happened to be the same one she wore for a Harper’s Bazaar magazine shoot she did back in 2016. Royal fans can’t help but wonder if Beatrice is trying to channel the Duchess of Cambridge by recycling her old couture looks in public. After all, it’s something that Kate Middleton has done several times in the past.
Beatrice is trying to make a name for herself in the world of fashion, but it’s not working for her the same way it’s worked for Kate. Simply put, a lot of royal fans believe that Princess Beatrice is no Kate Middleton. She doesn’t have what it takes to be an international style icon the same way that the Duchess of Cambridge is.
A lot of the pieces and accessories that the Duchess wears in public often sell out within minutes. Everyone wants to wear the same dresses, jewelry and even sneakers that Kate wears. In fact, Dolce & Gabbana recently renamed and restocked one of their dresses as ‘The Middleton’ all because sales soared after she wore it during a state trip to Canada last summer.
But with Beatrice, that hasn’t been the case at all. The fashion world and fans, for that matter, have largely ignored her. A lot of people believe that no matter how hard she tries, there’s no way that she’ll ever be another Kate Middleton. Yet that hasn’t stopped Princess Beatrice from at least trying to become a style icon in her own right by wearing pieces that she hopes will attract media attention. She’s simply tired of living in Kate’s shadow and wants to remind everyone that she’s a royal, too. The only thing is, no one seems to be paying any attention.
