Princess Beatrice is making it pretty clear that she doesn’t need the royal family to support her anymore. There are new reports that say Beatrice is looking to start her own business venture with a high profile client. Princess Beatrice is currently working as a business matchmaker with technology company Afiniti.
Eyewitnesses say that the 28-year-old princess accompanied Afiniti CEO Zia Chishti to meetings at the World Economic Forum in Davos last year. Her spokesperson confirmed that she is working with the company, but declined to specify her role with Afiniti.
Many royal observers believe that Princess Beatrice might be showing the royal family that she doesn’t need them after all, especially after Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles refused to make her and her sister Princess Eugenie full-time royals. She and Eugenie receive no direct taxpayer income from the Sovereign Grant. Back in October, reports said that Prince Andrew was pushing the Queen to give his daughters the same royal perks that Prince William and Prince Harry enjoy. But it was Prince Charles that blocked the request.
If that weren’t enough, Princess Beatrice is allegedly upset that she doesn’t get the same royal treatment that Kate Middleton gets in the family. Beatrice doesn’t like the fact that Kate gets preferential treatment, even though she’s the one with real royal blood. But royal critics simply don’t see it that way. Many believe that Princess Beatrice and her sister Princess Eugenie already have a lavish, jet-setting life. In fact, Beatrice quit her Manhattan investment job several years ago to move back to London to live the royal life.
Clearly, Beatrice is taking matters in her own hands. She’s tired of being pushed out of the spotlight by the others royals. That’s why she’s proving her worth by becoming a successful business matchmaker. Instead of depending on Queen Elizabeth and the royal family to support her, she’s carving out a career on her own.
So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about Princess Beatrice’s new business venture. Tell us, are you surprised that Princess Beatrice is dipping her toes in the business world?
