Ryan Seacrest is set to earn less than Katy Perry on the all-new ‘American Idol’ reboot. New reports say that even though Ryan is signing a multi-million dollar deal, it’s nowhere near the same amount of money that Katy Perry will be earning.
According to TMZ, Ryan is expected to sign his contract with ‘American Idol’ this week. He reportedly wanted to make $15 million dollars. ABC offered him $10 million and after some back-and-forth negotiations, they settled somewhere in between, although sources tell the site that the amount is closer to $10 million than $15 million.
For Ryan Seacrest, this might not be good news. After all, Katy Perry will be making a whopping $25 million to appear as a judge on the show. And while there’s no doubt that Katy is one of the biggest names in the music and entertainment industry right now, Ryan has been with ‘American Idol’ since day one. Surely, he believes that he should be making more money, if not at least the same amount that Katy will be making. But that’s just not the case. Katy Perry is obviously the new star of the show, whether Ryan likes it or not.
There’s also the possibility that Ryan might be taking on more than he can manage. A lot of Ryan’s fans can’t help but wonder how he’ll manage to juggle his multiple projects. He has to tape his ‘Live!’ episodes with Kelly Ripa every Monday through Thursday in New York City. He will also have to travel to Orlando, Florida to tape ‘American Idol’ as well. Ryan also has his daily radio show and of course his home in Los Angeles. It will only be a matter of time before Ryan will have to cut back on one of his projects.
So far Ryan Seacrest has not made any comments about his return to ‘American Idol.’ What’s more, producers are yet to pick the show’s other two judges. But with all of the money that the show is paying both Katy and Ryan, there’s a strong possibility that the two remaining judges won’t be big star names. That’s because there’s no way that ABC will be able to pay them the same amount of money that Katy and Ryan will be making.
