The Bachelor Producers Pick Arie Luyendyk Jr as Last-Minute Choice

The Bachelor Season 22 spoilers indicate that Arie Luyendyk Jr has been picked as this upcoming season’s leading man. The only problem is that he might not have been the producers’ first choice. Reports indicate that there was chaos behind the scenes because Bachelor producers were struggling to find a Bachelor before filming was supposed to start on Season 22. Many Bachelor Nation fans believe that one of the reasons why Arie was picked is because no one wanted to take the job.

For many die-hard Bachelor fans, Arie Luyendyk Jr is a surprising choice. His first appearance on the series was on Emily Maynard’s season of The Bachelorette back in 2012. Plus, the last time Arie was on television was several years ago

Unsurprisingly, producers desperately wanted Peter Kraus from Rachel Lindsay’s season of The Bachelorette, but unfortunately he just couldn’t commit. Producers knew that someone as controversial as Peter would help keep viewers tuned in. In fact, one insider told People Magazine, “They were in a full-blown panic mode. Peter was honestly never their first choice; they’re still mad at him because of the whole Rachel situation. But they knew fans wanted Peter. And the fact that they went to Peter even after they’d initially said they wouldn’t? That let Peter know he had a ton of power going into this situation.”

With Peter out of the picture, producers had no choice but to scramble to find someone fast. One of the reasons why many Bachelor alumni are refusing to take the top job is just because they’ve seen how stressful it is. Not only are they trying to find the one true love of their life, but they also have the taunting task of eliminating a heartbroken girl each week while also dealing with the pressure and stress that comes with being in the media spotlight. As a matter of fact, former Bachelor Nick Viall almost quit the show himself.

So far Arie Luyendyk Jr himself has not made any comments about the report. Fans will just have to tune in to see if he has what it takes to become a successful Bachelor or if he’ll even find his true love this season for that matter.

The Bachelor Season 22 will premiere January 2018 on the ABC network. In the meantime, don’t forget to check back with CDL for all the latest news and updates on Arie Luyendyk Jr and The Bachelor Season 22 spoilers right here!
