The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) will visit Adam (Justin Hartley) after she escapes Genoa City. This means that she didn’t kill her nemesis, but has been holding him hostage since September. All who believe that Hartley won’t be able to make a cameo, due to his contractual commitment to NBC’s hit This Is Us, should consider that prerecorded scenes were shot before he left Y&R last summer.
Being on hiatus from his night time gig, Hartley could have opted to return to the cast on a one-off basis approximately six weeks ago. He could also choose to work for two shows, as Victoria Rowell (Drucilla Winters), among many others, once did. But since NBC is a competing broadcast network, as opposed to Rowell’s situation where Diagnosis Murder was also part of CBS, it seems unlikely that Hartley would be able to refill his role.
Daytime devotees have witnessed countless characters appear after they were believed to have died, or went missing. Certainly there were instances in this genre’s history where prerecorded scenes were shot for later use. Why couldn’t Hartley have been asked to do some extra work before his voluntary exit?
Having been pressured by Nick (Joshua Morrow) and then exposed as a perceived murderous liar by Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan), Chloe went nuts and knocked out her best friend at the Chancellor mansion. Then she left town for the third time in recent years. However, The Young and the Restless spoilers say this exit wasn’t part of a plan to receive mental health treatment.
Going on the lam is something Kevin (Greg Rikaart) did when he embodied his former chipmonk personality. But at this point in her life and as a mother to her second-born child why would Chloe act so recklessly? Why wasn’t she able to overcome Delia’s (Sophie Pollono) death like Billy (now played by Jason Thompson) did?
Revenge obviously ate Chloe alive. But Victor (Eric Braeden) is the one who orchestrated her release from the mental health facility in California last year. He tapped her to help him frame Adam for the fake murder of Constance Bingham (Sally Kellerman). That experience allowed Chloe to embrace darkness, rather than healing. And the rest became stretched soapy history.
Now, panicked and fearful, Chloe will check in on Adam before she runs as far away as possible. Yes, that type of scene could have been filmed last summer before Hartley voluntarily exited the cast. Now fans are about to learn if that happened by next week. CDL is a leading source for everything linked to The Young and the Restless. Check back regularly for Y&R spoilers and news!
