The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers has shocking news for fans of the CBS daytime drama – Greg Rikaart who has portrayed Kevin Fisher, is leaving the show after 14 years in August. No one has openly revealed what transpired, but it has been confirmed his contract will not be renewed and Rikaart has been fired.

Y&R fans will remember when Kevin Fisher first appeared on screen, he was an online predator who had committed statutory rape on Lily Winters (now Ashby) (Christel Khalil) but managed to straighten his life out with the help of older brother and attorney, Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc). Viewers couldn’t help but fall in love with the young and misunderstood Kevin, quickly forgiving his misdeeds and rooting for the underdog.

Rikaart’s character, Kevin went on to having some epic love stories including his marriage to Jana Hawkes (Emily O’Brien) and of course his multiple marriages to Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson).

Chloe has recently left Kevin standing at the altar as she escaped her unforgivable crimes of kidnapping and killing Adam Newman (Justin Hartley). Kevin is brokenhearted but has managed to find some joy in his life when he discovered Bella (Cali May Kinder) is his biological daughter with Chloe.

Fourteen years ago, I booked a two-week long gig on The Young and the Restless. In my wildest dreams, I could never have imagined what it would turn into: a career-defining experience that has brought me so much happiness and fulfillment. Playing Kevin and watching him evolve over the years has mirrored my real life in so many ways. We both found love, both became dads and we both have more gray hair now than we did in 2003. I have such love and fondness for the cast and crew of Y&R that when I watch Kevin enjoying himself in scenes, it's hard to know where he ends and Greg begins. At the moment it is unclear what lies ahead for Kevin and I, as we will be saying goodbye to Genoa City for a while. I am sad to leave a place I hold so dear but also really excited about what the future holds. I cannot overstate how much gratitude I have to all of you who have been such loud cheerleaders for me. You've all enriched my life. So stick around. The journey is just beginning. :)
