The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that the sabotage story will continue to heat up. Everyone’s eager to find out who’s behind the toxic face masks. Jack (Peter Bergman) and Gloria (Judith Chapman) seem far too obvious. Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) wouldn’t be a huge shocker either.
Since Graham (Max Shippee) is always up to no good, let’s put him aside as well. Cane (Daniel Goddard) would have a motive to hurt Brash and Sassy, but future storylines will likely keep him busy enough. Although Juliet (Laur Allen) is an option thanks to her beef with Victoria, we should dig a little deeper just in case.
Y&R’s head writer, Mal Young, has made it clear that he likes surprises. If he really wants to leave us taken aback, Young will have to get creative. As a result, we need to least consider some truly startling suspects.
Victor (Eric Braeden) has proven that he’ll do anything to get what he wants. He was willing to frame Adam (Justin Hartley) for murder and he did. Victor also kicked Nick (Joshua Morrow) off the ranch and stole $500 million from him. You can never rule anything out when it comes to the great Victor Newman.
Victor wants to get closer to Victoria and that seems to be happening. There’s a good chance Brash and Sassy will become part of Newman Enterprises again at some point. What if that was Victor’s plan all along? He may not have considered the idea that Victoria would use the face masks on herself.
Perhaps all of Victor’s recent outrage is completely phony. He may have been planning to pin this on Jack from the very beginning. A humiliated Ben Hochman (Ben Hermes) also wouldn’t be out of the question. Many Young and the Restless fans seem to like the character, so it’d be fun if he came back for revenge.
If Young wants someone that will make our jaws drop, Ravi (Abhi Sinha) would be the way to go. He’s always letting Ashley (Eileen Davidson) know that he would do ANYTHING for her. Does that include something as sinister as face mask poisoning?
Y&R intends to clean house, so we should probably expect some moves that are a bit out of character. If they want to write Ravi off the show, here’s the perfect exit. He could’ve been so desperate to please Ashley that he sabotaged Jabot’s rival.
Ravi understands how important John’s (Jerry Douglas) legacy is to Ashley. If Ravi thought that was in jeopardy, he could’ve made a daring decision. Sabotage would likely get Ravi fired and sent packing from The Young and the Restless.
We should also consider the possibility that Billy (Jason Thompson) or Victoria (Amelia Heinle) inadvertently sabotaged themselves. They’re business bozos who cut corners, so Y&R might show us just how dumb they are. Billy claims no one signed off on toxic ingredients, but maybe something slipped through the cracks.
