The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that the time Victor (Eric Braeden) spent away from Genoa City didn’t serve to heal any emotional wounds. Instead, the Moustache will return to battle his wife and children in one of the great Newman family wars. And Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will gleefully join the opposition of his long-time adversary.
Clean Victor was refreshing. He stepped back from business, relaxed on the couch at the Ranch, mentored his grandchildren and treated Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) like the diva she is. But that’s not the Victor Newman that soap opera fans know. The bulk of the audience wants bad Victor back.
Jack recently detected Nikki’s unwillingness to defend Victor when he questioned her about him. That alone was enough to raise his suspicions. Next, Jack noticed that Nick (Joshua Morrow) didn’t include Victor in a list of people who would overcome the fallout from Adam’s (Justin Hartley) apparent death. Hardly a coincidence, Mr. Abbott knows that a crack in Newman family loyalty means something. He just doesn’t know what that is yet.
Sally Sussman used the past handful of months as a respite. Victor’s actions of last summer ran up a bill that’s now due. His payment will come in the form of a public battle involving his offspring and the woman he sometimes loves or hates, depending upon each other’s mood.
While Victor has often looked out for his family, he’s also manipulated their lives on many occasions. In this instance, he purposely never informed them that he recruited Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) to frame Adam for the murder of Constance Bingham (Sally Kellerman). Victor knew they would never support such a reckless and preposterous revenge scheme.
Nick’s dogged actions forced his dad to acknowledge the truth. Based on his life’s patterns, there’s every reason to believe that Victor would have never told anyone anything, including why he helped Chloe to escape from Genoa City. However, he was genuinely unaware that she’d blown up the cabin. Yet Victor’s ignorance of her actions in that instance didn’t make his past misdeeds digestible.
Next up is Vickie (Amelia Heinle). If Jack’s questions strike thrice, he’ll confirm that the Newman trio is hiding something big. How he uses that information will prove compelling, as many times in the past it was often Jack battling Victor alone. This time, with the help of Victor’s betrayed family members, he’ll have a chance to topple The Moustache. CDL is a leading source for everything linked to The Young and the Restless.
