Goldie Hawn and Kate Hudson hold a special bond. The duo is one of those rare mother-daughters who get along in Hollywood. They’re more than just mother and daughter. They’re also best friends. Goldie Hawn holds a lot of love for Kate Hudson, but she still refuses to work with her. The reason why is not for typical diva reasons though.
Instead, Goldie Hawn is making movies with the annoying Amy Schumer. Fans would rather see her team up with her prettier, funnier, and much more successful daughter on the large screen. Goldie Hawn says she would love to work with Kate Hudson, but believes they both would bring “too much baggage” to the set. She refuses to work with her famous daughter because the expectations set on them would be too high, reports The Los Angeles Times.
“We would love it, but it’s really interesting – unless it’s something great, honey, you don’t do it,” Goldie Hawn said. “And I’ll tell you another thing: mother or daughter, or son or whatever – sometimes doesn’t work. You have to look at reality because we’re very well known apart. There’s a lot of expectation coming into it. You want to talk about baggage.”
Goldie Hawn has returned to the big screen after her 15-year absence. She will be playing Amy Schumer’s mother in the new movie, Snatched, directed by Johnathan Levine. Meanwhile, Kate Hudson will star in the new movie, Marshall, set to release on October 2017.
Goldie Hawn has also opened up about her special bond with her daughter. She told PEOPLE that she knew Kate Hudson was a special person from the start.
“A mother-daughter bond is very different,” Goldie Hawn reveals in PEOPLE’s cover story. “When I had Wyatt — my third, Kurt’s and mine — [Kate] came to the hospital. She was 7, and she came up to me: ‘Mommy, I’m so happy I’m your only girl.’ I said, ‘I’m so happy too, honey.’ As we grow older together, I can’t express the amount of love, joy, laughter, sadness we share. She understands me, I understand her. We’re girls. We share everything. She’s, like, the greatest.”
Though she shares a special bond with Kate, she admits that her sons are there whenever she needs them the most. What are your thoughts, CDL readers?
