Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that one NBC soap star is speaking out on the Daytime Emmy nominations. Billy Flynn (Chad) earned a spot on the pre-nom list for outstanding lead actor, but he didn’t quite make the cut for the final round. When DOOL fans heard the news, many of them got on Twitter and spoke their minds.
Some viewers suggested that Flynn deserved a nomination for his work and called this a major snub. However, Flynn decided to set the record straight about how he feels. He didn’t want anyone getting too bent out of shape about this. Flynn sent out several tweets to clear things up and tell everybody who he’s rooting for.
“First off huge congrats to ALL the nominees…especially my #days family,” Flynn said. “You’re all amazing!! Second, I honestly only ever imagined @JreynoldsJames name being called in my category. It’s the way it should have been. He was phenomenal!!! He deserves that Emmy…”
Of course, Flynn referring to James Reynolds’ brilliant work as Abe last year. Most Days of Our Lives fans would agree that Reynolds put in an Emmy-worthy performance. His scenes following Theo’s (Kyler Pettis) shooting were quite gripping and emotional.
Flynn didn’t have a ton of great material to work with in 2017, so his reel wasn’t as strong. He seems to understand that, so he’s not making a big deal out of his name not being called. The competition was obviously stiff.
Still, Flynn appreciated all the support. He just wanted everyone to cool it and accept the situation. “I love you all,” Flynn said. “But I wasn’t snubbed…or robbed.” Naturally, Flynn took some time to congratulate his co-star as well. Marci Miller earned a nomination in the outstanding lead actress category, which is pretty impressive since she just debuted on Days last year.
Flynn suggested Miller’s nom was another reason to celebrate. He tried to put the spotlight on her as he wrapped up his tweets. “I’m not sure if you missed it or maybe you just didn’t hear them when they said @MarciMiller for lead actress!!! Sure they didn’t say Billy Flynn but today still sure as feels like a WIN!!!”
There’s been plenty of love among the DOOL cast since the nominations were announced. It’s nice to see all the mutual admiration. Days of Our Lives spoilers say more shockers are set to unfold in the months ahead, so there should be some great moments for next year’s reels. It never hurts to start thinking ahead!
