Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Stefan (Tyler Christopher) will make a shocking move on Friday. Abigail (Marci Miller) is unstable thanks to her DID, so Stefan should’ve come clean the moment he found out. Instead, he chose to gain the trust of Abigail’s alter. Stefan has convinced himself that “Gabby” is a full-fledged person who can make her own choices, but that’s just not true.
“Gabby’s” simply something Abigail’s mind created to help her cope with killing Andre (Thaao Penghlis). Abigail doesn’t even have a clue that “Gabby” exists. She’s been busy trying to make sense of everything in her subconscious. That’s what all those black and white scenes with Andre are about.
DOOL has made it clear that Abigail has no control over “Gabby.” She can’t be held responsible for anything she does in this state. Abigail wouldn’t make the decisions “Gabby’s” been making if she indeed had a choice.
Stefan’s already been exploiting Abigail’s illness, but he’s about to go too far. Days of Our Lives spoilers say Stefan and “Gabby” will hop in bed for some wild sex. Of course, what this really means is Stefan will rape Abigail. It’s not like Abigail can give consent in “Gabby” mode.”
Some Days of Our Lives viewers aren’t bothered by this scenario, but others have been quick to voice their outrage. Social media has been buzzing with tweets and posts about this storyline. Many fans sent out angry tweets to let the show know they don’t approve.
“No other way around it folks, that is RAPE,” a livid Twitter user said. “Stefan taking full advantage of mentally ill woman. It’s not entertainment…in fact it PROMOTES abuse towards women. Crossing too many lines.” Another Days watcher said, “Stefan doesn’t care that he’s about to rape a woman who can’t give consent & I hope it’s addressed. It better not be swept under the rug…”
This obviously isn’t the first time the show’s gone the rape route. Chase (Jonathon McClendon), EJ (James Scott), Kristen (Eileen Davidson) and Jack (Matthew Ashford) are a few examples of DOOL’s other rapists. EJ and Jack were arguably redeemed, but that task was easier for soaps back then. The Me Too movement is strong now and it could prove difficult to make Stefan a respectable leading man again.
