Martha tries to flag for help after she and her husband get into a car accident. Cars fly by without stopping. She sits outside the car, waiting. A walker comes out of the woods. She kills him and then goes back into the car to hold her husband’s hand as he takes his last breath. Hours later as she sits outside the car she hears growling. Inside the car her husband has turned into a walker. She puts him out of his misery. She digs his grave in a field with her bare hands.
Days come and go as she sits in the field and slowly grows insane. One day a tractor trailer truck finally stops. A woman named Stevie gets out with a box full of helpful things; clothes, food, water. Martha kills her by stabbing her in the neck with a rake handle. She doesn’t want Stevie or herself to be of any help to others. Day after day following she kills anyone who drops off a box by forcing a walker on them. She thinks people need to learn how to care for themselves. She hears someone calling on the truck radio. It is Morgan.
Sarah and the guys duck for cover in the front of the tractor trailer truck as Martha drives by them after shooting them up. Morgan gets angry and gets out of the back. He tells Martha to make him pay as she attacks June with a walker. Someone gets off a shot and almost takes out Martha. Sarah’s rig starts on fire. They all dig for cover. It explodes. Walkers start to come out of the woods everywhere.
Alicia and Charlie find Sarah’s rig. They wonder where they could be. Alicia thinks east. Meanwhile, Sarah, Morgan and the others walk as fast as they can while the walkers follow them. Morgan spots a hospital sign. June wants to make a stop so she can check everyone out. They head there.
At the hospital, Morgan watches as dozens of walker try to claw their way in. June looks him over after checking everyone else. He tells her they cannot stay there long.
Sarah and the others talk and look around when they see walkers make their way through the ambulance bay. They head back to see the others. Jimbo starts freaking out. He demands Morgan get them out. He tells them they need to go up. They start climbing the stairs of the hospital. At one of the higher floors they begin barricading doors when they get a radio call from a few of the others who are blocked by walkers. Morgan and Jimbo head to help when a walker attacks them both. After a struggle, Jimbo manages to kill a walker by himself with a pair of scissors.
The gang, minus Al, who is in a broom closet, meet up and manage to get into the elevator. They make it to the roof. It’s clear. Jim tells them about his tussle. June wants to make sure he doesn’t have glass in his back. She lifts his shirt. He has been bitten. She tells him. He has beer to make. He wants to know how long. Everyone is silent. Morgan tells June that he asked for his help. June tells him he did help him. She tells him Al is going to make it back. She asks what is next. Morgan doesn’t know. He doesn’t know how to get them out. June knows he will find a way.
Alicia and Charlie argue about finding Morgan and the others. Alicia wants to get her to Galveston. She needs something to be good. They hear water and find a lake. They find a black hat and in the distance, something else.
