General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Franco (Roger Howarth) will struggle to push through that final memory barrier. He’s obviously suffering from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), which puts him in a dark place every time he tries to revisit that fateful night with Drew (Billy Miller). Franco is downright terrified whenever his mind thinks back to little “Andy’s” trauma.
Therapeutic hypnotherapy can be used to bring subconscious memories to the surface in an individual. If the memories are traumatic, this process can help the patient cope and bring healing. Combat veterans and victims of childhood abuse often have success with this method. Hypnosis can help them understand their reactions to triggers and make sense of what they’re feeling.
That’s why Franco was willing to give all this a try. He knows he has to get answers and close the door on his past. It’s the only way to reunite with Liz (Rebecca Herbst) and bring peace to his life. Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) started the hypnosis session in Wednesday’s episode and it quickly brought another meltdown for Franco.
After he remembered Jim, Franco’s mind jumped to the aftermath of Drew’s tumble. Kevin urged Franco to go back just a bit, but that proved quite difficult. Franco freaked as he tried to deal with the fear he felt as a kid. He insisted that he was afraid of Jim, so that’s what’s causing this memory block.
Fortunately, a major breakthrough is on the way. Kevin won’t be able to pull any more memories out of Franco, but some sudden danger will do the trick. General Hospital spoilers say Jim will force Liz and Jake (Hudson West) to go with him at gunpoint. Franco will eventually catch up with them and when he does, another flashback will shake things up.
GH fans can expect the whole story to finally come out. Franco will remember everything, which probably includes some severe abuse. It seems pretty clear that Franco and Drew suffered under “Uncle Jim’s” care. Franco probably gave Drew a nudge downstairs as they tried to flee from their abuser.
Once Franco’s memories click in place, he’ll decide he has to act fast. Franco will try to save Jake and Liz from evil Jim’s grip. It looks like Drew (Billy Miller) will pitch in at some point, so stay tuned for more General Hospital drama. We’ll give you updates as other GH news comes in.
