General Hospital (GH) spoilers for the near future reveal that Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) will soon become maternal, and bond with her baby. Even though it does seem a bit too soon for her to give birth, the Braxton-Hicks contractions she recently experienced while trapped in Ava Jerome’s (Maura West) art gallery with Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) can be a forerunner to actual labor and childbirth.
Even though many women do not experience these early contractions until the third trimester, they can be felt as early as the seventh week. They can also be brought on by stress! Hey Ava…where DID you put that book for first time mothers you were reading when you were pregnant with Avery? That could be of great help to your young assistant!
Long time GH viewers will remember when Carly first came to town in April 1996 she was very much like Nelle, probably worse – with an agenda against Bobbie Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman) who was her natural mother. Also like Nelle, she wanted to get revenge. In Carly’s case the source of her bitterness against Bobbie was because she gave her baby away shortly after birth.
But, through many years, many marriages and relationships, two living children, one presumed deceased, and at least one miscarriage, Carly GREW UP. No doubt Carly still possesses those vengeful and manipulative qualities of her younger years, but age and experience have taught her there are better ways to go about dealing with others than the use of revenge and manipulation.
Now Carly prides herself on being an excellent mother to Josslyn (Eden McCoy) although at times, a bit overprotective. But, being a mother was one of the main things that motivated Carly to become a better person.
General Hospital fans tend not to find very much to like with Nelle but will becoming a mother prove to be the motivation for her to become a better person? Will Nelle be able to ignore the distrust and gossip, and the hatred of others towards her and prove herself, not to impress them, but for her child and herself, to forge a better life?
