Prince Charles Reveals His Leadership Plans As Next King Of England

Prince Charles has opened up about his leadership plans and the first thing he will do the moment he becomes the next King of England. Charles has been the first in line to the throne since he was 3-years-old.

In a new document highlighting the life of Queen Elizabeth, Charles got very candid about what kind of leader he hopes to be in the future. The two-part ITV special, titled Queen of the World, looked at Queen Elizabeth’s role as head of the Commonwealth.

Prince Charles took park in the short film, along with his two sons Prince William and Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle. In the documentary, the 69-year-old royal said that he feels it will be his responsibility to “mind about other people,” and “mind about what happens in his country and the Commonwealth.”

Prince Charles said, “People don’t always understand about the concept of duty. I think a lot of the time you have to be brought up to understand what it actually means. Minding about other people, minding about what happens in this country and the Commonwealth, and that’s the only way, all the masses of people who need to be encouraged and thanked.”

When asked by a young student whether or not he would build a fort when he becomes king, Charles joked that he will. Now, as far as when Prince Charles will be crowned King is anyone’s guess at this point. He has waited and has been preparing his entire life to become King of England. Some critics believe that he might not be as qualified for the job while others think that his more charismatic son Prince William should take over the role instead.

So far Queen Elizabeth herself has made no indication that she plans on stepping down from the throne, nor will she be making any sudden or drastic changes that would give Prince Charles a more prominent role in the monarchy. As the Queen of England, she has also shown no steps of slowing down as she still attends her royal engagements and public appearances on a regular basis.

Either way, Buckingham Palace hasn’t stated whether or not they plan on bucking tradition. Prince Charles will be the next person in line to take the throne, whenever that time comes. In the meantime, don’t forget to check back with CDL for all the latest news and updates on Prince Charles and the rest of the British royal family right here.
