Queen Elizabeth Receives Record Low Public Funding - Barely Over 100 Million Dollars

Queen Elizabeth has received her lowest amount of public funding in years. In fact, new reports say that the Queen of England will only be receiving about 82.4 million pounds ($104.7 million) for the next financial year. It’s only a 0.2 percent ride from the previous year.

The 92-year-old monarch received public funding through the income of the estate that oversees the land, palaces, and jewels owned by the serving sovereign. In addition to the Crown Estate, The Queen and the royal family also own a stud farm and the world’s most valuable stamp collection.

Back in 2015 and 2016, the Queen received a 25 percent raise that as supposed to go towards renovations at Buckingham Palace. But this year it seems as though she’ll be getting much less in comparison.

So far Buckingham Palace has not made comments about this year’s public funding, although at this point it’s doubtful that anything will be said. Even royal fans know that both Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip have always been very mindful of how they spend their funds, or what they even spend their funds on.

It’s been often said that the Queen of Elizabeth and her husband put their breakfast cereal in plastic bins in order to keep it fresh and not waste it. If that weren’t enough, the Queen also has been supposedly saving gift wrap and ribbons from the trash so she can reuse it – or better yet regift them – for the future.

Now, as far as the rest of the royal family is concerned, it does seem as if everyone has different spending habits. Even though Kate Middleton often recycles her outfits in public, she and her husband Prince William are known for their lavish trips and vacations to the South of France and the Caribbean. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also spent a considerable amount on their royal wedding at Windsor Castle earlier this year.

If that weren’t enough, Prince Charles also has his lavish spending habits. Just recently, the future King of England was criticized for bringing an entourage of 13 people and having a traveling yeoman – also known as a designated clothing manager – come on tour with him, too. For her part, Queen Elizabeth has never any headlines for any lavish spending.
