Samantha Grant claims that her father Thomas Markle is launching his own menswear line. Meghan Markle’s estranged sister made the claim in a series of tweets this week, said Thomas is looking to become a designer even though he has no prior experience in the world of fashion.
Thomas, for his part, has not said anything about his plans, although his daughter shared the news with her social media followers, much to everyone’s surprise. Samantha tweeted in her private account, “So excited about my father’s new #clothing line for men! Will keep you posted.”
Meghan’s extended family have made it no secret that they are willing to do just about anything to not only keep their names in the headlines, but to cash in on the Duchess of Sussex and her connection to the royal family. At one point they have even been accused by media outlets of cashing in on Meghan, which they don’t seem to mind at all. In fact, Samantha even admitted to it, stating that it was her right to grant paid interviews to talk about her family.
Samantha, who has been the most vocal about Meghan in the press, told Good Morning Britain back in July, “Let’s face it — we all have to survive. Money makes the world go round, so if you want to call that cashing in, that’s fine, but I think no one in media would refuse a paycheck for talking about the royal and, as a family, we’re not subject to royal protocol.”
So far neither Samantha nor Thomas Markle have made any additional comments about this new menswear line, what it would entail or when it would even make its debut for that matter. Samantha did mention in a separate tweet though that Thomas is also looking to make a line of hoodies for men of his age. There’s no word though on who will be sponsoring the line or if Thomas will have any design input himself.
So far Meghan Markle herself has not made any comments about her father’s clothing line plans. Although at this point, it’s doubtful she will say anything, as the Duchess of Sussex has not spoken to her father since before her royal wedding to Prince Harry back in May.
