The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers reveal that one CBS soap star is mourning a tough loss. Katherine Kelly Lang plays Brooke on B&B, but some real-life drama is hitting her hard. She recently spoke out about losing a close pal in a heartfelt Instagram post.
Lang said, “Our hearts are heavy today! Kathryn West was such a dear friend…She passed away from cancer today after a few long years of fighting cancer, she lost the battle. I know she didn’t want to go. She had so much to do still on this earth.” Lang included a photo of herself with West to honor her memory. It’s clear that Lang had a great deal of respect and love for such a special person.
West was the head of Breakaway from Cancer and she even helped start the initiative. Since Lang was an ambassador for this community, she worked closely with West to make a difference in the lives of many women. Breakaway from Cancer will continue the fight without West, but it’s difficult to say goodbye.
Lang wanted everyone to know just how wonderful West was. She called her a fighter who was “so kind, so determined, inspirational, a hard worker.” Lang added that West is a “true angel” now and will forever be missed. She’s sad to bid her friend farewell, but West clearly made a major impact during her time in this world.
Naturally, many Bold and the Beautiful fans expressed sympathy in the comments. It’s always hard to lose a loved one, especially when they’ve put up such a fierce fight against a serious illness. Plenty of B&B viewers offered their condolences and encouragement to Lang during this time of grief.
Lang will undoubtedly keep West’s memory alive with her continued involvement in Breakaway from Cancer. It’s an incredibly important cause to Lang, so she’ll want to keep spreading the word. West would be proud to know she’s leaving behind fighters who are just as determined as she was.
