The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers tease that Liam (Scott Clifton) and Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) will remain in a dark place. Steffy understands why Liam’s in pain and she certainly regrets her actions. However, she still wishes Liam would’ve been willing to move past this.
As for Liam, he believes his perception of Steffy has changed permanently. Of course, B&B characters are known for making overdramatic statements like that. Liam could easily reunite with Steffy and be completely content by this time next year.
Still, we should address Liam’s view right now. It’s clear that Steffy and Bill’s (Don Diamont) hookup tore him apart. In a recent tweet, Scott Clifton decided to chime in with his thoughts on Liam’s ordeal. The Bold and the Beautiful fans will be interested to hear his take!
Soaps In Depth started the exchange by suggesting that Liam moved Steffy from the category of “dream girl” to “ho.” Clifton replied, “If I may defend my (often indefensible) character for a moment: the perception change isn’t about sexual promiscuity; it’s about ideological loyalty.”
Clifton went on to say that “Liam sees her night with Bill as an endorsement of Bill’s worldview and values—which include a capacity for knowingly hurting him.” A little later in the conversation, Clifton noted that some of the blame falls on Liam. He obviously sets himself up for heartache by putting the women he loves on pedestals.
“Liam is pathologically idealistic,” Clifton said. “And nearly all his suffering can be traced back to that.” We can’t give Steffy a pass though. If she’d slept with anyone besides Bill, Liam would’ve probably forgiven her. Steffy understood what this would do to Liam if he ever found out, but she took the risk anyway.
Still, Steffy has never been a pillar of morality. Something like this was bound to happen sooner or later. Liam also started this mess by kissing Sally (Courtney Hope), so there are many ways to play the blame game. Regardless, Liam and Steffy can’t change the past, so they’ll just have to move forward.
Unfortunately, The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers say they’ll be doing that separately for now. Steffy and Liam may reunite eventually, but it’s going to take time and lots of hard work.
