The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers tease that Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) isn’t necessarily Steffy’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) best protector. Instead, Bill (Don Diamont) can be presented as a strong alternative. So, who does have Steffy’s best interests at heart?
Deep backstories involving both referenced male characters needn’t be touched within this feature. Instead, we are simply addressing which powerful persona has the clearest view of what should be in Steffy’s future.
Steffy is one-half Ridge (as originally played by Ron Moss and now, Kaye) and one-half Taylor (always played by Hunter Tylo). So the biological bond between Woods’ alter ego and her on-screen dad isn’t the issue.
Instead, one wonders if Ridge really know what’s best for his daughter? Recall, he suggested, just before Steffy spilled the truth to him about Dollar Still, that Liam (Scott Clifton) was a stand-up guy.
A few minutes later, when learning that Steffy had a, well let’s call it a, tryst with another man, Ridge instantly referenced Liam having kissed Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope). Nice consistency there, Marone!
Ridge has a deeply checkered past. His advice is as valuable as an off the rack suit that was purchased seven years ago. Yes, this scribe still laments that money drop. Today, he would task Forrester Creations to prepare his custom-made threads. Thorne’s (Ingo Rademacher) design would be preferred, of course.
Now, Bill deserves his due. So let’s consider this persona.
Oh, it’s understood that people will be caterwauling at the mere suggestion that he’s a better protector for Steffy than her father is. Too bad detractors, Dollar Bill has greater appeal.
Steffy shares a personality type with Bill. He’s the one who understood how challenging it was last summer and fall when Liam was chasing the windmills of Sally’s mind.
Who was it that lovingly trailed Steffy to the Forrester guest house? Yes, that was Bill. Without him having done so there’s no telling what Steffy would have done to herself.
Anything was possible that night. Steffy was so distraught, she could have thrown herself down the hills that cascade below the mansion’s property. Yes, Bill likely saved her life. But will many give him credit for that act? No.
Ridge’s love is paternal. He sees Steffy as a child. Bill sees her for the incredible woman that she is now. Liam isn’t in Steffy’s league. Sally or Hope (Annika Noelle) will take him off Steffy’s hands.
Ideally, if all works out, Bill will have paid someone to have provided Steffy with a fake paternity test result. Steffy’s child must be Bill’s and with that Dollar Still can live a great family life together.
