The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Cane Prepares For Lily's Absence – Prison For Mom Tests Ashby Family

The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Cane (Daniel Goddard) must prepare the kids and himself for Lily’s (Christel Khalil) potential absence. If the worst is realized, Mrs. Ashby could be separated from her family for a long time.

Lily finds herself in peril because she allowed herself to become distracted while driving. How Michael (Christian LeBlanc) will be able to prove that Hilary (Mishael Morgan) was equally responsible for the injuries she and her unborn baby incurred, that caused both of their deaths, remains perplexing.

How does an attorney show respect for the dead, while also offering evidence that asserts the truth? Hilary wasn’t thinking about her own safety, Lily’s, or Charlie’s (Noah Alexander Gerry) while she knowingly, openly, purposely engaged in what proved to be a mortal conversation.

However, as Y&R’s hardcore viewers saw, Hilary made peace with Lily in the hospital approximately a day before she died. That scene was written without witnesses, which means no one can testify that Hilary acknowledged reality and also absolved Lily.

Cane attempted to keep Lily’s secret, but was thwarted by the young lady who doubly-spurned the incident. Mr. Ashby instantly recognized that Lily would be in legal jeopardy if she was revealed as having blown through the red light in downtown Genoa City. Cane’s efforts failed and his fears have been realized.

Shauna (Camryn Hamm) texted Charlie with the intent of inviting him to ‘Hevon’s’ penthouse. While she knew it was wrong, Shauna wanted to be alone with her boyfriend.

Shauna’s actions are hardly rare, as many her age would tell. However, most unauthorized romantic interest sessions aren’t followed by two deaths.

Charlie chased Shauna from penthouse to the awaiting Genoa City landscape that was only seen through green screen via Lily’s car. Hamm’s character was written as a fast runner, as neither of her three trailers could catch up to her. So, Lily got in her car, Hilary occupied the passenger seat, and Charlie was in the back as they began their search.

Later, after all, went down, Shauna felt compelled to reveal what Lily had done. That led to Khalil’s character’s confession and sense of imprisoned destiny.

The above soapy setup was crafted to secure a climatic write-out for Morgan, who voluntarily exited the cast a few months ago. Kudos to Y&R for this well-written storyline that continues to deliver quality drama, with multiple storyline branches now being explored.
