The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Eric Braeden Stepping Away From Victor Newman Y&R Role – See Why and for How Long

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that one CBS soap star is stepping away from his current role. Y&R fans adore Eric Braeden as the always manipulative and sometimes lovable Victor Newman. He’s a staple in Genoa City, so no one wants to lose him.

Unfortunately, viewers will indeed have to suffer through a Victor drought. The Young and the Restless spoilers state that Braeden is taking a little time off. In an interview with TV Insider, Braeden confessed that he’d be spending a month vacationing in Germany. Naturally, that means he won’t be around to tape new episodes of The Young and the Restless.

There are plenty of other characters to fill the void while Victor’s gone, so there’s no need for concern. This is still a bummer if you’re a big Victor fan, but at least it’s not a permanent departure. Victor will be back before you know it, so it’s good to keep that in mind. It might make the wait a bit more bearable!

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Jack (Peter Bergman) and Victor will be at odds soon, presumably about the father they potentially share. Although it’s doubtful that revelation is true, it could still spark quite a war. It’d be interesting if Victor left town to deal with a business crisis and came back to find Jack running amok. Perhaps Jack could make some power plays while Victor’s away.

Then again, Y&R may let that story play out slowly. They could focus on other plots while Victor’s out of the picture, which might mean they won’t explain his absence at all. We don’t see characters like Michael (Christian LeBlanc), Gloria (Judith Light) and Esther (Kate Linder) every day, but we all know they’re around somewhere. Regardless, Victor won’t be off the air too long.

As for Braeden, he seems excited about his Germany trip and all his fun plans. Braden said, “It is the 60th anniversary of winning the German Youth Championship. I was javelin, discus, and shot put champion. I’m seeing some of my fellow athletes for the first time in 60 years!” Braeden noted that he also intended to visit some family and friends in the area.

The Young and the Restless watchers certainly hope Braeden has a blast, but they’ll also look forward to his Y&R return. We’ll give you updates as other news comes in. Stay tuned to the CBS soap and don’t forget to check CDL often for the latest Young and the Restless spoilers, updates, and news.
