The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Nick's Move-in With Sharon Causes Hysteria – Hypocrite Phyllis Needs To Keep Quiet

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) move back to Shick’s old home makes sense on paper. But there is some concern in the minds of some Genoa City characters now that he’s living in the cottage once again.

Mariah (Camryn Grimes) isn’t sure if her mom’s outreach to Nick is wise. Sharon (Sharon Case) is coming off her breakup with Scott (Daniel Hall), while Nick was just cast aside by Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan).

However, Mariah only knows what she’s been told about Shick’s history. Yes, she looks just like Cassie (also Grimes), but Miss Copeland doesn’t possess the life experience to know what Sharon and Nick were like during their best, worst or in-between moments.

Nick has warmed to Sharon within the last year. He was furious once the Sully-is-actually-Christian (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) reveal came out. But time passed, he healed and reformed his never-having-ended connection with Sharon. Two multiple, invented compound words were needed within this paragraph due to Shick’s complex history as readers understand.

Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) expressed her own angst prior to Mariah, as one of Nick’s other wives saw the opportunity Sharon was gaining and then realized. But Phyllis’ opinion must be considered in full context. Many Y&R fans consider Phyllis to be a huge hypocrite – kidnapping Adam, cheating on Jack with her husband’s brother, and yet acting all outraged when anyone else does something she feels is wrong.

Michelle Stafford’s edition of this great character performed so many dastardly deeds, including taking Nick while Sharon was grieving Cassie’s untimely death, that today’s Phyllis has no leg to stand on. Sharon holds a greater child number count with Nick than Phyllis does and has also retained her obvious appeal into middle-age. So yes, she’s a threat to a competitive woman like Miss Summers.

Nick is no fool. He knows Sharon better than anyone, recognizes her character flaws and sees that she’s grown.

At this point Nick is considering the best interests of his children, regardless of whatever objections others, most especially including Niktor, will have to say about his shelter decision. Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind) will benefit by having both of her parents in the same house, as long as they get along. Christian will regain a relationship with the first woman he believed to be his mother. That could also be a win.

As for whether Shick reforms, who knows. Executive producer and head writer Mal Young has now established that potential, which is all those who have hoped for Sharon and Nick’s reunion could have hoped for. And now this potentially realized reunion moves into its own arc.
