The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that a great cast addition could be in the works. A new Soap Opera Digest blind item reveals that one soap actress is about to hop over to another daytime drama. This info could apply to any of the four soaps, but there’s one option that really stands out.
Based on what was probably a disguised casting call, Y&R appears to be on the hunt for a Summer Newman recast. It makes sense that they’d want to bring Summer back on canvas soon. Michael Mealor will take over the role of Kyle later this month, so it’s a good idea for his old love interest to return as well.
Meanwhile, Courtney Hope is most likely on her way out at The Bold and the Beautiful. There’s buzz about her character’s upcoming exit, so she could be up for grabs. It’d be easy for Hope to make the move from B&B to Y&R. They’re both CBS soaps, so that seems like a simple deal to make.
Of course, we can’t ignore the glaring resemblance between Hope and what would be her onscreen mom. Many soap fans have already commented on how similar Gina Tognoni (Phyllis) and Hope look. That was before there was even chatter about recasting Summer. How perfect would it be if Hope played the daughter of Tognoni’s character? Talk about fantastic casting!
Nothing’s been confirmed yet, but all the evidence is adding up. No one would be surprised if The Young and the Restless snatched up Hope for this role. She’s a solid actress who could easily capture the spirit of Summer. It’s safe to say a lot of viewers would welcome Hope with open arms.
Days of Our Lives doesn’t need any females in Hope’s age range and General Hospital’s cast is bloated enough as it is. If Hope’s going to secure another soap gig, Y&R is her best bet. The Young and the Restless spoilers state that some hot material’s coming up, so maybe Hope will join the cast and be part of it!
