The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Cait Fairbanks (Tessa) has become a victim of online bashing. Disliking a character or even an actor’s portrayal is one thing, but targeting people on social media is quite another. Some users have now stooped to name-calling and nasty insults.
Fairbanks recently spoke out this issue. She used her Twitter account to address some of the hateful comments she received. People are creating cruel hashtags to call for Fairbanks’ firing and make derogatory comments about her breast size. That’s obviously childish and ridiculous.
Everyone has a different view on how the story should play out and which characters should be on canvas. However, there’s no need to tag actors in mean tweets or come up with vicious campaigns against them. There are better ways to express opinions. Fairbanks’ loved ones have even been badmouthed, which is certainly uncalled for.
Fortunately, Fairbanks has some good strategies to handle the haters. She highlighted a few of the malicious hashtags and called them her favorites. Fairbanks is poking fun at the attempt to drag her down, so it’s great that she’s refusing to let the hatred get to her.
Of course, there are other tactics to fight back. Fairbanks is using the “kill ‘em with kindness” approach in other cases. One Twitter user told Fairbanks she was a horrible actress, but Tessa’s portrayer didn’t lash out. Instead, Fairbanks took the high road and offered a kind response.
Fairbanks said, “I do hope that you are finding a positive place in life! It’s hard out there. I hope no one has bullied you in life or online cause it can be painful. I can take it, but no one else should have to! Godspeed.” Kudos to Fairbanks for trying to cut down on all the online hate out there.
As for Tessa’s future, The Young and the Restless spoilers hint that Mariah (Camryn Grimes) may be open to more than friendship eventually. Y&R has spent plenty of time setting this up, so they might as well move forward. The next chapter could be the most exciting phase of the story.
