Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) will soon have a major announcement to make. As DOOL viewers know, DiMera Enterprises has been in a state of flux recently. First Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) was accused of killing Ted Laurent (Gilles Marini), which caused Mr. Shin (Michael Hagiwara) and the DiMera board to want to separate themselves from the scandal. Stefan was out, and that led to a major scramble for a new DiMera CEO.
Then Gabi DiMera (Camila Banus) married Stefan so that she could be eligible to become CEO, while at the same time Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk), who was masquerading as Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker), married Tony so she’d be able to become CEO. Gabi then became CEO for a hot minute, before Mr. Shin put an end to that by hiring Kate DiMera (Lauren Koslow). Then Kate was shot by Vivian Alamain (Robin Strasser) and she couldn’t perform her duties.
And now Stefan is going to be dead and gone, so he can’t come back. And that will leave Mr. Shin and the board with a big problem. They’ll need a CEO, but of course the company requires that one must be a DiMera by blood or by marriage in order to be eligible for the job.
So, who does that leave who could take the job? Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) is currently in Paris working for DiMera there, and the board probably wouldn’t want Kristen if they’re afraid of scandal. Besides, Kristen probably wouldn’t want the job anyway, now that she’s pregnant and focused on winning back Brady Black (Eric Martsolf). And Gabi probably won’t want the position, either, given that she’ll be in mourning.
Well, according to Days of Our Lives spoilers, Mr. Shin will cajole Tony to come back to the company and become CEO once again. Although it’s been years since Tony was at the helm of DiMera, he’ll seem like the best choice for the board. And the news will apparently cause quite a stir, as Kate will be stunned. She will probably have been under the assumption that she would come back as CEO after her hospitalization, but that certainly won’t be the case.
Someone else who will be blindsided by the announcement will be Anna DiMera (Leann Hunley). According to DOOL spoilers, she’ll be shocked by Tony’s announcement that he’s returning as CEO. It looks like it might cause some problems for the couple, as DOOL spoilers also say that Tony will eventually have to choose between DiMera Enterprises and her, so look for some upcoming conflict there.
Of course, in the weeks ahead, Chad and Abigail DiMera (Kate Mansi) will be returning for an arc, so it’s possible that we could see Chad step into the CEO position down the line as well. At any rate, it seems like there will be still more turnover when it comes to the position – we’ll see how the company ultimately fares as a competitor with Titan with all this upheaval.
