General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) are experiencing the calm before the storm. They’ve faced some Dev Cerci (Ashton Arbab) hiccups and will continue to face more, but that’s trivial in the grand scheme of things. Sonny can handle a tricky teen; what’s coming for Carly may be far tougher.
Carly and Sonny recently renewed their vows, which felt like a harbinger of doom. There was absolutely no reason for that ceremony. General Hospital’s goal seemed to be simply showing “CarSon” on cloud nine. They’re building them up so things can get awfully dark this fall.
GH fans know Carly is expecting a baby that’s been diagnosed with spina bifida. She’s been concerned about her child and will remain fearful as the birth draws near. However, this kid’s life may not be the only one at stake. Carly herself could be the one who lands in grave danger initially.
Soap deliveries pretty much never go smoothly. Any pregnant woman tends to go into labor at a very inopportune time. That usually leads to giving birth away from the hospital, where Mom and baby can’t receive medical care right away. This scenario could have especially tragic results for Carly and her child since there are so many health risks going on.
Even if Carly makes it to GH when she’s supposed to, there’ll still be major worries. As the birth of the baby draws near, General Hospital spoilers tease that Carly and Sonny will be tested like never before. The Corinthos family will fear they’re not going to survive this ordeal intact. You could interpret that a few different ways, but one of them definitely involves a life-threatening scare for Carly.
If the family fears they won’t make it out of this intact, they’ll fear they won’t be complete anymore. That could mean fretting over a “CarSon” divorce, but that’s something they wouldn’t worry about until much later. It seems more likely that a family member will be near death – and Carly makes the most sense. That could apply to the baby, but he or she hasn’t really become part of the family just yet.
It sounds like everyone will rally around Carly, and there may even be a tough choice for Sonny. Will Sonny be in some situation where he has to choose between Carly’s life or their baby’s?
