General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that there’s a new hero in town – and his name is Detective Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard)! It’s exciting to watch Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) save the day, but some GH fans have complained about seeing the same hero time and time again. It wouldn’t hurt to spread the love, especially if the hero could be another well-liked character.
As a bonus, Chase is actually on the police force. We can kill two birds with one stone here since some fans also complain about the incompetence of the PCPD. This is GH’s chance to let a new hero step up AND have the cops get the job done right. Chase is gearing up for his big moment to shine according to General Hospital spoilers.
In a recent issue of Soap Opera Digest, a fall preview pointed to some juicy material for Chase. GH Co-Head Writers Chris Van Etten and Dan O’Connor pointed to Chase’s involvement in Shiloh Archer’s (Coby Ryan McLaughlin) takedown. They insisted that “as we approach the date of Shiloh’s latest desperate gambit,” Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) will have a lot on her plate and “Chase will have a lot of hero-ing to do.”
As for Chase and Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) relationship, the co-scribes offered a hint about that, too. Willow and Chase are in a good place at the moment. Their relationship is still going strong, and Willow is moving into Chase’s apartment. However, Van Etten and O’Connor noted that “happiness is usually the cue for misery!”
Willow has been concerned about the pitfalls of Chase’s job, so all signs point to danger for the kindhearted detective. It sounds like Chase may get involved in a Shiloh showdown down the road. Chase’s heroic efforts could also put him in Nelle Benson’s (Chloe Lanier) line of fire. An escape seems to be brewing with Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) and potentially Shiloh as well, so Nelle may be ready for revenge.
After all, Chase played a huge role in making sure Nelle went to prison, which led to her giving up her son. Nelle would have every reason to go after Chase – especially if he tries to stop her from reclaiming Jonah Corinthos aka “Wiley Cooper-Jones.” We’ve also got serial killer Ryan to worry about; he really is a wild card since he never minds killing anyone in his way.
Chase will have the opportunity to play the hero and hopefully save some lives in the process. Unfortunately, his own life may be in jeopardy as a result. Perhaps Jason will still be needed as the chaos blows up. He can never avoid Shiloh for too long, and GH can’t resist letting him go into rescue mode!
