General Hospital (GH) spoilers has some great news to pass on about a popular GH star. John J. York, who portrays Mac Scorpio on the ABC soap, recently made a big family announcement. He revealed the recent birth of his second grandchild!
Of course, on General Hospital, Mac doesn’t have biological children of his own, although he has two step-daughters, Maxie West (Kirsten Storms) and Georgie Jones (Lindze Letherman). But John J. York has a daughter, Schyler, and now he’s got two grandchildren.

John took to Twitter to make the announcement. He posted a photo of himself and his wife Vicki with the beautiful new baby. His tweet reads: “Welcome Lucille Jane! Grand baby #2.”
John is quite active on Twitter and frequently posts about what he and his family are up to, so hopefully we’ll see more updates about his grandchildren as they grow and thrive.
The great news comes at a time when big things are happening for John’s character Mac onscreen at GH. As viewers know, Laura Collins (Genie Francis) recently approached Mac about stepping in as Interim Police Commissioner while Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) is on the mend recuperating from her kidney transplant.

It should be an exciting time for Mac as he once again becomes the Port Charles top cop. It looks like he may have to deal with some interesting cases, possibly including a look into how Jordan’s transplant actually came about and a likely escape from custody by Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier).
And it will surely be an exciting time for John, as he gets to know his new little granddaughter. Our congratulations and well-wishes go out to John and his family on their new addition.
