General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that one ABC soap star is speaking out against social media hate and bullying. Tamara Braun (Dr. Kim Nero) faced some hurtful comments on Twitter, which she was seemingly tagged in. It’s not very nice to tweet out insults anyway, but sending those insults to the actress is really crossing the line.
Braun decided to tackle the issue head-on, so she started an interaction with the Twitter user. She questioned why this person would even follow if her performance was met with such disapproval. “Hi there,” Braun said. “I have a question for you. Why do you follow me on social media if you find me so irritating and want to write unkind things about me?”
The Twitter user has now locked her account, but Braun’s tweets let us know the gist of what went down. This GH fan apparently defended her comments as criticism of the character, not the actress. However, Braun wasn’t quite buying that since a vomit emoji was used and she was called a “spastic squirrel.” She was naturally hurt by the jabs, so she offered some simple advice in return.
“I think you have forgotten that I’m a person w/feelings who plays Kim,” Braun said. “You don’t have to like what I do but maybe think about the person at the end of the tweet before being mean. Just a suggestion. #BeKind.” When the same Twitter used stood her ground, Braun decided it wasn’t worth the trouble. She accepted that she wasn’t going to change this person’s mind, so she chose to move on.
Sometimes that’s the only thing you can do when social media gets nasty! You have to know when to walk away from the keyboard or put down the phone. Braun wrapped up her series of tweets with gratitude. There are certainly some bad apples that spoil soap Twitter for everyone, but there are plenty of positive fans, too. Braun wanted to thank those General Hospital viewers for their support.
“Hey kind ones,” Braun tweeted. “Thank you for your words. Thanks for the love and support. I appreciate you. Let’s remember that we don’t have to be unkind back bc someone else was. Ask honest questions, try to share something of value & if there is no acceptance then let it go. #bekind & #block”
That’s another piece of good advice! The world could use a little more kindness, so we should all try to spread love, gently guide others and ignore the hate if necessary. As for what’s next in Port Charles, General Hospital spoilers say Kim will continue to struggle with her loss. She’ll lean on Drew Cain (Billy Miller) heavily as she tries to rebuild her life without Oscar Nero Quartermaine (Garren Stitt).
