Hallmark Channel News: GH’s Matt Cohen Stars In Holiday Date - Christmas & Hanukkah Movie

Hallmark Channel news has some great information to pass on about a holiday movie coming up this weekend that you won’t want to miss. It’s called “Holiday Date” and stars Matt Cohen, who portrayed Griffin Munro on General Hospital, along with Brittany Bristow. And this one’s special since it is Hallmark’s first Hanukkah movie for the season.

In “Holiday Date,” a young woman named Brooke (played by Brittany Bristow) gets dumped right before Christmas, and right before she was planning to bring him home to meet her family for the holidays. She enlists the help of an actor named Joel (played by Matt Cohen), who happens to be Jewish. When her family ultimately finds out about his background, they incorporate his holiday traditions into their own plans.

Christmas and Hanukkah are then celebrated together by the family and Joel, until the boyfriend ruse is discovered by the family. Joel and Brooke then have some explaining to do, and they also find love along the way.

You might remember Brittany Bristow from her roles in several previous Hallmark Channel movies, as well as in the TV series Rising Suns. She’s also the host of Wildlife Quest, which is show created, written, and produced with her family for National Geographic.

In the behind-the-scenes feature about “Holiday Date,” Matt Cohen spoke highly about his experience on the film. “Everybody’s giving 110%,” he said on set. “It’s the happiest I’ve ever left a set, it’s the happiest I go into a set. To be part of this is amazing. You truly feel that warmth, that family.”

And Brittany Bristow had good things to say about the film as well. “We want this to be everybody’s favorite Christmas/Hanukkah movie,” she said. “It feels really special to be part of [Hallmark’s] Countdown to Christmas with it being the 10th Anniversary. It’s a really special one for both of us.”

In a separate interview for Hallmark’s Home & Family, Matt also shared his enthusiasm for this film, since it will be the first time that his young son will get to watch one of his projects. “I’ve been an actor, I’ve been in the entertainment business for 15 years, and my son has never seen anything I’ve done…he’s only 4½…I tend to play darker, edgier roles and he just can’t see that stuff, so this will be the first thing he can see.”

“Holiday Date” sounds like a great movie for the season that the whole family can enjoy. Will you be watching? Enjoy all your Hallmark Channel holiday movies and don’t forget to check CDL often for the latest Hallmark Channel News.
