We are down to the top eight, and everyone really earned their place. It is time for the next big challenge, it is a Mystery Box. Tonight they have to make something highly creative and delicious, using corn as the main ingredient. In their mystery boxes, they find many different types of corn, they have one hour to make their stunning dish.

The judges want to take a closer look at three dishes:

Che made Shrimp & Corn Sope with smoked paprika popcorn and pico de gallo. Christina says that he managed to take something that is well known and give it color and elegance, he made it his own, incorporated the corn in three ways, brilliant. Aaron is a proud Mexican, he says it is spot on and he wants to incorporate it in his restaurants.

Matthew made Blue Corn Crusted Tuna with corn-roasted pepper salsa, avocado and furikake spiced baby corn. Gordon says the tuna is cooked beautifully and he did something with the corn that he had not expected. Although, the salad could have been elevated. Christina says the tuna is beautiful, she loves the furikake and the lemongrass.

Ivy made Corn Tamale with corn elote and huitlacoche. Aaron says she took on a difficult dish, she cooked it for the right period of time and the garnishes connect well. Gordon says it needs a little more heat, but she is growing in this competition.

The winner of the Mystery Box challenge, and will win a game-changing advantage, Che.

Everyone joins the top three at the front. Che steps on the sideline. The home cooks will be working in four teams of two, and it is a tag team, Che will be picking the teams.

Che gets to pick first, he picks Aaron.

Che chooses Reid and Ivy together, Jaala and Matthew, Malia and Sadie.

In order to stay in the competition, they have to make tapas from Spain.

In a tag team challenge, they work in pairs, but only one teammate can work at a time.

Che and Aaron are up first. Christina says that visually it looks good, Not the perfect platter, but she was impressed with the way they worked together.

Jaala and Matthew. Gordon says the start of the challenge was dreadful, they did not work together. Gordon criticises the octopus and Matthew almost breaks down. In the last twenty minutes, they came together as a team and it may have saved them.

Reid and Ivy. Aaron likes the overall look of the platter, some of the dishes are textbook. They both did a very good job, overall a strong effort.

Malia and Sadie. Gordon says the dishes look a little rushed and a lot of the dishes are a fail. He is disappointed and thinks they were a little too cocky tonight.

This was an extremely difficult challenge, tapas is not easy to nail. Although, there is one team that blew the judges away, Reid and Ivy; they head up to the balcony.

The next team heading up to the balcony, Che and Aaron.

Malia and Sadie make it though.

Matthew and Jaala are heading home, they have been eliminated from the competition.

THE END!
