Station 19 Recap 05/09/19: Season 2 Episode 16 "For Whom the Bell Tolls"

Tonight on ABC Station 19 returns with an all new Thursday, May 9, 2019, season 2 episode 16 called, “For Whom the Bell Tolls” and we have your Station 19 recap below.  On tonight’s Station 19 recap as per the ABC synopsis, “Following a life-threatening situation that left the future of a member of Station 19 unclear, the crew gathers to face the outcome. Andy and Ben respond to a man impaled by a chandelier. Meanwhile, Station 19 is called upon to organize shipments of supplies and assist with wildfires in Los Angeles.”

Andy and Maya make breakfast for Victoria. She isn’t in her room. Maya thinks she and Andrea need to talk. Meanwhile, Victoria sits alone at a diner, telling the waiter her husband is at work.

Jack comes in to find Maya crying. She doesn’t want to talk about it. Meanwhile, the California wildfires rage on. No-one can deal with all this bad news, as they sit in to talk in the kitchen. Victoria shows up. She is all business and wants to just act like everything is normal. They all offer to cover for her for the day. She doesn’t need help. She isn’t planning anything and isn’t going to the funeral.

Travis tries to talk to Victoria about mourning. He knows how all of this feels. She doesn’t want to talk.

Ryan tells Andy he is headed out of town for a while for a new job training. He is going with Jenna. Andy is taken aback.

On their way to a house call, Andy tells Ben about what a firefighter’s funeral looks like. They arrive at the scene of a man named Nate who has been accidentally impaled with a metal light fixture. When they remove one of the pieces he begins to code.

Pruitt tries to talk to Victoria but she doesn’t want his advice, she tells him politely. Ben and Andy try to continue to save Nate. They get him stable and in the back. His blood pressure starts to drop again. Andy shocks him. It doesn’t work. Ben pulls over to help. Ben thinks they need to remove the last piece of metal in Nate’s chest. They do, it works!

Sullivan and Jen tell Victoria she needs to go to the funeral. She tells them she can’t handle it. Maya continues to cry. Jack tries to talk to her. He gets a little annoyed. Miller steps in and tells them both just to feel and be happy they are still alive.

Ben and Andy bring Nate into the hospital. Andy has a small meltdown over it all, she hears the bells after her mother’s funeral, Maya and her, Victoria’s sadness. Ben tells her to calm down and tackle one thing at a time.

Sullivan comes to talk to Andy. The eulogy isn’t going too well. He talks about speaking at his wife’s funeral. Andy didn’t speak at her mother’s. Andy gives him advice – just be raw and talk from the heart.

Travis tells Victoria she has time to change her mind and get dressed to go to the funeral. He accuses her of being in denial of not coping. She is angry. She didn’t get to get married. She may have lost the man who could be the love of her life. She isn’t anything to him on paper. She tells him to stop talking and walks off.

After receiving flowers from a man who was saved, Victoria changes her mind and goes to the funeral. Andy and Maya help her dress. She joins Jenn on the walk into the funeral home.

Andy and Maya sit together. Maya apologizes about Jack. Andy feels better.

Sullivan takes the podium to talk about his friendship with Lucas and their connection. Maya grabs Jack’s hand. Sullivan tolls the bell for Lucas now that he is headed home.

The gang all get together after to celebrate and toast Lucas. Miller invites Nicki along. The guys think he is crazy that this is their first date. The guys like her. Ryan and Sullivan sit and talk. Ryan’s compliments him on his speech. Andy tells Maya it is okay if Jack stays the night. Maya thinks only Victoria should be staying the night. They get to talking about Sullivan. Andy isn’t sure she doesn’t have an interest in him. Meanwhile, Victoria sits at the diner alone with her flowers.

Ben leaves. Travis stays. He isn’t wearing his ring anymore and needs to live his life. A man sits next to him. He starts gossiping about Victoria. Travis punches him. Across the city, Victoria admits to the waiter that Lucas isn’t her husband and he isn’t at work – he died.
