The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers for Tuesday, August 20, tease that Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) will be on the receiving end of an intense interrogation. As B&B viewers know, he’s just called the cops on Florence “Flo” Fulton (Katrina Bowden) and had her arrested for her crimes. But after Detective Alex Sanchez (Jeremy Ray Valdez) has Flo escorted off the premises, it looks like he’ll turn to Ridge and want some answers about someone else who’s knee-keep in trouble…Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson).
Detective Sanchez will be interested in taking to Ridge about Thomas’ involvement in Emma Barber’s (Nia Sioux) fatal car accident. B&B viewers will remember that Thomas was hotly pursuing Emma in his car when she crashed on Mulholland Drive and ultimately died. Then, in lieu of stopping and offering Emma assistance or calling the police, Thomas left the scene of the accident, which Detective Sanchez will find suspicious.
Detective Sanchez will certainly want to talk to Thomas and question him about that night, but since Thomas hasn’t been seen nor heard from since the big Beth Spencer (River Davidson and Madeline Valdez) reveal, he’ll want to question Ridge about where Thomas might be.
And this will put Ridge on edge. From his perspective, he’s just heard from third parties about the crimes that Thomas has supposedly committed, and he doesn’t want to believe it. Xander Avant (Adain Bradley) told Ridge about how Thomas chased after Emma and wanted to keep her from telling Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) the truth about Beth, but Ridge really wants to hear it from Thomas before he reaches any conclusions about Thomas’ guilt.
And that’s going to put Ridge in a bind when Detective Sanchez comes asking questions. Ridge won’t want to give the police any damaging information, and he’d much rather get to Thomas before the cops do, but the chances of that happening are probably slim at this point. Of course, Ridge truly doesn’t know where Thomas has been since the truth about Beth came out, so he won’t be of much help to Detective Sanchez.
Meanwhile, on the new episode of B&B on Tuesday, August 20, Hope will take some important steps toward reclaiming her life. As B&B viewers know, she just had a major showdown with Flo, and now she’ll want to extricate herself from her marriage to Thomas as soon as possible.
According to B&B spoilers, Hope will seek Justin Barber’s (Aaron D. Spears) help in seeking an annulment from Thomas. Justin can certainly help Hope get the paperwork together on her end, but at some point Thomas will have to agree to the arrangement, and that could be a problem. Nevertheless, she and Justin will get the process started. Justin’s a pretty aggressive lawyer, and with Bill Spencer’s (Don Diamont) help, they may try to track Thomas down and force the issue.
Hope will also want some help from Justin to undo Beth’s adoption to Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood). Of course, the adoption was illegal and fraudulent to begin with, but there could be quite a bit of red tape to officially undo everything and make it official that Beth is not “Phoebe Forrester” and doesn’t belong to Steffy. Hope will need to get a new birth certificate for Beth, and that will probably take some legal maneuvering.
Fortunately, Steffy is cooperating and there isn’t an issue there, but legally Hope will want to be able to make decisions regarding Beth, and undoing the adoption is the only way. Plus, it’s an important psychological step for both Hope and Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton), to know that their daughter is not only theirs in their hearts, but also in the eyes of the law.
