The Village begins with Sarah Campbell (Michaela McManus) waking up and learning she had fallen a lot the night before but the couch was the final landing spot as she rushes off, hoping he will tell her about what happened. John (Will Chase) hands her the purse, kissing her before she runs off to get Katie (Grace Van Dien) off to school. She runs past Nick Porter (Warren Christie) asking him if he is okay but knows he is lying as he reveals he is going to see a widow from one of his military group. She attempts to apologize for just coming home from a “friend’s” but he tells her one of them needs to have a life.

Gabe Napolitano (Daren Kagasoff) is helping his grandfather, Enzo (Dominic Chianese) bring up his chair from storage to their apartment. Sarah finally makes it to the apartment just as Katie opens the door, she blurts out that she didn’t have sex, making Katie ask if she is apologizing or bragging. Katie will only tell her mother she is going out, but she has lip gloss on. Jagger is outside and Sarah wants to know if she is going to tell him and what she wants from him. Katie admits she only likes him as much as Sarah likes control. She is angry that Sarah won’t see that she is having a baby, not a baby anymore. She reveals Jagger messaged her that he missed her, wondering if her mom wants him to stay; unlike her story?

Ava Behzadi (Moran Atias) speaks to other inmates learning more English; she is called by one of the guards where she meets Ben Jones (Jerod Haynes) outside, revealing she is coming home as she hugs her son, Sam.

The doctor reveals to Patricia Davis (Lorraine Toussaint) and Ron Davis (Frankie Faison) her thoughts on how they are going to treat her cancer, starting with chemo, surgery and then radiation. Ron reminds her that they are familiar from the last time she battled cancer and reception will book an appointment immediately as the tumor is aggressive. Patricia is upset with Ron for telling people, only wanting them to know until they must. He asks if her fighting cancer alone includes him; she tells him she is going to walk home alone.

Nick sits with Amy Bowman (Nadine Nicole), as she talks about her new venture. She is willing to kick his butt for free. She admits that missing her spouse is nothing new as he was always gone for at least 6 months at a time. Nick confesses that he knew about Katie for years before meeting her, but he was scared Sarah won’t tell Katie. He beams as he talks about Katie as Amy thinks this would be a good thing for him. He is about to confess about Cooper’s death, but she insists break is over and putting him to work.

Katie tells Jagger she is happy he messaged her as it has been a while, revealing he broke up with his girlfriend on Friday. He thinks it is awesome that she got suspended but is constantly interrupted by his phone; Katie sends him a message saying, “I’M PREGNANT!” A short time later, Sarah finds Katie as she tracked her phone. Katie doesn’t want to talk about why “the kid” isn’t there so Sarah tries to make her laugh, both quoting 1930s movies. Sarah holds Katie, knowing what they are in for.

Ava wants to know from Ben how she was bailed out. He admits he used the police relief fund to pay her bail, but asks her not to mention it. Ben offers to leave so Ava can spend time with her son. Meanwhile, Nick and Amy talk about a party at the building; she says Cooper was the social one and doesn’t want to know unless the story ends with Cooper alive. She asks him to text his address in case she changes her mind.

Patricia walks into the church and prays, saying she has been an agent for good but God has put poison back into her body. She breaks down, angry that this wasn’t the deal and she has held up her end; demanding to know how God dare do this to her?

Sarah arrives at Julie Tucker’s (Amy Carlson) office, saying she found her in the parent directory; getting straight to the point that their kids are having a child together! Julie is positive her son didn’t get anyone pregnant as he has told her everyone he is dating and has never heard Katie’s name. She says Jagger was with Emma, Chantal, and a Megan; inadvertently calls Katie a slut but when Sarah is forced to speak up she talks about all of the things great about Katie and will not let Jagger take away the views on the world that Katie has. She wants Jagger to simply treat Katie kindly and own this.

Ava arrives at the factory confronting Hamid (Pej Vahdat), but he says she can stand in open court now and have deniable plausibility. Gabe hears the front door open and Angelo Napolitano (Paul Ben-Victor) arrives, saying he is looking for Enzo. He says that Enzo is in a home so they can take care of him while he falls apart. He feels Gabe doesn’t have the bandwidth to take care of his grandfather, causing Enzo to come out and demand him not to disrespect Gabe. Angelo calls the apartment a dump, advising Gabe that his grandfather is a taker and should be careful.

Nick and Ron set up the rooftop, with Ron revealing that he got an earful of his and Sarah’s business. He feels Sarah and Katie are his girls and if he hurts them, he will fire him and then hurt him. Nick again says he isn’t working for him, but Ron tells him he starts tomorrow and it will be tight. Nick catches Sarah trying to find Katie, but there is no response. He says seeing his friend’s widow was like putting one foot in front of the other. He mocks her about switching up her alcohol. John arrives, saying he is only drinking water as he overdid it the other night. Amy walks in, causing Nick to leave them alone. He is glad that Amy came, but she wants him to serve up some drama, he points out who the ex is and waiting for Katie to return. She is impressed with how beautiful Sarah is.

Patricia joins her husband on the roof, who apologizes for telling his brother about her cancer. She says he is a lucky man, but only wants to mingle until all the guests arrive and an early night. Ron walks over to Enzo, who jokes that Patricia is a beautiful woman who is married to a monster; Enzo asks if they can speak privately.

Katie barges onto the roof, furious that Sarah contacted Jagger’s mother without consulting her first. She says she is standing up for her as a mother does, but she says as a friend she should have given her hands up. Nick tells Amy she might get her drama as “that is the kid!”

Sarah chases Katie down the stairs, but she orders her mother not to follow her and she is turning off location on her phone. Nick walks down and joins Sarah on the steps as she feels he will regret it. Sarah reveals Katie talked to the dad and went exactly how she expected. She admits that Jagger is nothing like Nick, but she did tell Jagger’s mother that he is a terrible human being. Nick feels that was an interesting tactic, but he comforts her saying it could be a lot worse as she has been mad at him for 17 years; she is glad he grew up okay and that he sat down. John finds them, saying he is grabbing something from downstairs as Nick advises her to go after John.

Sarah finds John, who was waiting for her. She says Nick isn’t there for her but rather there for Katie; John is shocked to learn that Katie doesn’t know Nick is her father. Sarah explains why she kept it from Katie. John feels a few years ago he would have risen to the challenge, but she did tell him that she didn’t want to look catastrophically single and has learned from his mistakes. He tells her it has been fun and leaves.

Julie tells Jagger and Katie they should sit with a priest and Katie should go live with her sister, who has a big house on Staten Island, with childcare close by so Katie can go to work. Katie explains she plans to live with her mother, but Julie pushes her saying they will even make Paul defer school for a year so he can contribute; Katie is confused asking Jagger if Paul is his real name? His dad can’t believe this is happening; Katie explains she wants to go to a school of Visual Arts. Julie doesn’t think Sarah can handle “this mess” which Katie is angry for, leaving as Jagger/Paul questions like his parents about paternity.

Katie defends her mother, saying all she heard was getting a room at his aunt’s house but no one mentioned whether she gets him. She still wants him, asking if he wants her too. He advises that they do as his mother wants. Katie calls him a “kid” and walks away.

Gabe talks to Enzo about Ava’s case, who is proud that Gabe is defending an immigrant. He presents Gabe with another room, that he can work in when Enzo’s opera becomes too loud. He is so proud of everything. Ron and everyone greet Ava with claps; then begins reading as Sam sits with Patricia and everyone intently listens. Ben looks on lovingly as Ava hugs her young son; but Patricia is angry at the poem Ron read.

He defends his actions, feeling some of the poems was for her. He refuses to let her keep running, reminding her that she ran away last time. She says she did it to spare him, something he never asked for. She feels she isn’t strong enough for his pain and hers. She admits she is scared as he asks what he is supposed to do, as he will not abandon ship and she better let him love her the best he can; as she is an organ in his body because if she fails, he fails. She warns him about her bad feeling and he holds her tight.

Ava is touched that everyone is supporting her, but she gives him $3700.00 as she will pay him back in installments. She pleads with him to take it, as his generosity is overwhelming but she cannot accept it. She doesn’t want her son to see her depend on someone else. Ben says he is fond of Sam and his mother; both flirting with each other.

Enzo brings food down to Gabe, saying he needs to keep his strength up and pretend he isn’t there. Gabe says the food is really good as Enzo says his father, Angelo isn’t wrong because he wasn’t always around for him growing up. Gabe says Enzo was always there for him, suggesting they take care of each other as Nonna would like that.

Katie returns. Sarah apologizes, learning that Katie was barked at by Julie, defending Katie’s honor. Sarah jokes that she was lucky that she had her leash on, causing Katie to laugh. She wonders where she would have been if Sarah gave her up for adoption. She is certain she would have been loved, but Katie wonders where Sarah would be. She talks about a case study was done years ago, revealing their male DNA in their bones was from giving birth to sons. She tells Katie, “I’m in your bones, girl! And she is everywhere in her, so wherever she ended up she still would have been with her.” Katie runs into her mother’s arms.

Amy joins Nick in his apartment, where he says he gets painful by the end of the day and getting a prosthetic soon so he can play basketball. Amy wants to touch it but Nick stops her. She is glad he is stable and home now. She kisses him but he stops saying she is Cooper’s wife and he is dead because of him. She looks startled as Nick explains what happened and it is his fault that he didn’t listen to Cooper. She slaps Nick over and over in the face, but then grabs him into a kiss; both free from guilt, but awfully lonely.

Sarah watches Katie until she is sleeping. Ava knocks on Ben’s door, kissing him when he opens it. Nick and Amy continue to kiss as Sarah walks outside her apartment up the stairs. She stops for a moment before she continues to walk towards Nick’s. She pauses at the door and stops herself from knocking.

THE END!
