The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Chadam Lives – Will Chelsea and New Adam Newman Have the Same Sizzling Chemistry?

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) return will bring some crazy May sweeps drama. After Adam finally hits Genoa City again, it probably won’t be long until he’s pushing for a custody battle. Y&R fans can expect Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) worst nightmare soon, which will force him to fight for what matters most.

That certainly sounds like Nick will be stuck in war over Christian Newman (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen). Naturally, Adam’s going to want his other son back as well. Where is Connor Newman (Gunner and Ryder Gadbois)? To figure that out, Connor’s mother will have to be found – which is where Chelsea Newman’s (Melissa Claire Egan) upcoming return comes in.

There’s no word yet on how long Chelsea will be sticking around, but it wouldn’t be surprising if they locked Egan in for a while. Y&R is clearly taking an out with the new and in with the old approach. They want the show to feel familiar again, so they’re bringing back popular characters and actors.

If Adam’s got some memory issues, he may not particularly care about reuniting with Chelsea. His concern may be more about staking his claim to Connor. Of course, Chelsea could ultimately fight for love. She’ll be blown away when she realizes Adam isn’t dead after all, so we’ll see how she handles this stunning turn of events.

Before Egan’s comeback news broke, there had been some Young and the Restless buzz about a possible Chelsea recast. It’s safe to say that would’ve been a terrible idea. Bringing on two recasts at once and expecting them to be the same beloved couple almost never works. “Chadam” holds a special place in the hearts of many viewers, so there was no point in taking that kind of risk.

Now the question is: Will Melissa Claire Egan have chemistry with the new Adam? Mark Grossman is taking over the role, which was last played by Justin Hartley. Prior to Hartley, Adam was portrayed by Michael Muhney. Both actors had their fair share of supporters, so Grossman has big shoes to fill.

“Chadam” fans are already crossing their fingers as they await Grossman’s debut and Egan’s return in early summer. Egan managed to make this couple work with the last two Adams, so let’s hope the same magic can be recaptured. The Young and the Restless spoilers say this could turn into a heartfelt reunion story and give viewers a solid pairing to root for.

Do you think Chelsea and Adam will find their way back to each other? Will Egan and Grossman have chemistry as onscreen love interests? We’ll give you updates as other Y&R details emerge.
