The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Chelsea Newman’s (Melissa Claire Egan) behavior is drawing criticism from some Y&R viewers. Why has she been so against Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) from the start of her return stint? Chelsea was desperate to begin a new life with Adam before the explosion. She was head over heels in love and ready for their family’s future.
Chelsea complained that Adam had changed, but that excuse doesn’t really work. She pushed Adam away from the moment she heard about his survival. Besides, why should Chelsea care if Adam’s fighting with his family? She used that as another excuse not to reunite with Adam, but Chelsea herself left town at odds with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).
Every soap character’s done messed up things, including Nick – who wasn’t on great terms with his family either not too long ago. Nick’s J.T. Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill) impersonation plot caused major backlash. Chelsea’s acting like Nick is some saint and Adam is the plague that must be avoided.
Never mind the fact that Chelsea put Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) in the hospital before she left and nearly abducted Christian Newman (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen)! She may have settled down now, but Adam deserves the chance to settle down, too. He offered to leave Genoa City behind with Chelsea and Connor Newman (Gunner and Ryder Gadbois), but she insisted she wants nothing to do with him.
Of course, Chelsea isn’t obligated to recapture the past. People change, and we get that. However, Connor is Adam’s son. This is a very different situation from Christian’s since Adam altered that paternity test and wanted Nick to raise him. Adam had a strong bond with Connor and is now back from the “dead.” Why shouldn’t he get a chance to be in Connor’s life?
Unfortunately, The Young and the Restless spoilers say Adam will become more ruthless than ever soon. Chelsea’s driving Adam to play dirty when a joint custody agreement could’ve been worked out. Her stubbornness could cost her big time.
Many “Chadam” fans out there are finding Chelsea’s total turnaround frustrating since Adam was once her true love. Chelsea may come around sooner or later, but what do you think of her stance so far? Does it make sense for Chelsea to shove Adam aside and pretend her relationship with Nick was the real love story? Perhaps Chelsea is just in denial and trying to bury her deep feelings for Adam.
