The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will continue to support Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan) and get support in return.
They’ve been steadily growing closer from the moment Chelsea hit town again. Chelsea was rattled by Calvin Boudreau’s (John Burke) death, but she was focused on Nick even in the midst of the crisis.
Now Calvin barely seems to be a thought in Chelsea’s mind. She’s put her old connection with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) behind her for now as well. However, that “Chadam” connection could be a little harder to keep buried. As Adam and Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) bone strengthens, could some jealousy emerge for Chelsea? It’s a possibility to consider.
Chelsea Newman Bringing Connor Newman Home Spells Trouble
Y&R could easily turn this into an “I don’t want him, but I don’t want anyone else to have him either” scenario. Of course, what Chelsea really wants deep, deep down is up for debate. Who’s to say Chelsea isn’t just living in denial right now? She’ll bring Connor Newman (Gunner and Ryder Gadbois) back to Genoa City during the week of August 5-9, so that could be the first sign of trouble for “Chick.”
However, The Young and the Restless already seems to have Nick’s backup love interest lined up. That’s a good thing since Chelsea and Nick don’t seem to be a particularly popular pairing. There’s just no real history behind them, and their chemistry isn’t exactly off the charts either. Nick and Chelsea are inching toward a full-blown romantic reunion, but that may just be because Y&R wants to derail it.
Meanwhile, we’ve got Nick softening toward Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). He accepted her recent olive branch and has decided he doesn’t want to fight with Phyllis anymore. It takes a toll on Summer Newman (Hunter King) when her parents are constantly clashing. Nick doesn’t want Summer being forced to take side or getting caught in the middle of their drama.
Will Phyllis Summers Help Nick Newman Cope With Heartache?
This could be the beginning of a love triangle featuring Chelsea, Nick and Phyllis. Then again, it may just be a simple case of Phyllis helping Nick cope after Chelsea breaks his heart. Phyllis may not have true love interest potential again until it all blows up.
Regardless, classic “Phick” fans have been waiting for this reunion. Ever since Stafford’s return was announced, it’s been expected that Nick and Phyllis would get back together. They had their fair share of supporters once upon a time, so Y&R might as well go for it.
That might leave Chelsea and Sharon to fight over Adam without another Newman brother in the mix. The Young and the Restless spoilers say some interesting developments are brewing, so stay tuned.
