The Young and the Restless spoilers review for Thursday, August 15, tease that Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) will finally spill the big secret that he’s been holding over Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). Summer Newman (Hunter King) will press Theo to her about what happened back in New York, and after some balking, Theo will tell Summer everything.
Theo will explain that when he and Kyle were in their partying heyday, there was a girl named Zoe Hardisty (Anna Grace Barlow) who attended one of their open-bar parties. Zoe ended up getting very drunk – so drunk that she needed medical attention.
Through a flashback, Y&R viewers will go back to that night and see Theo and Kyle pouring Zoe into the back of a car. Then, while Theo drives to the emergency room, Kyle will check Zoe’s driver’s license and realize that she’s underage. Kyle and Theo will argue about what to do, and ultimately they’ll agree to just dump Zoe at the emergency room and split.
Theo will then tell Summer that the next day, Zoe’s father came knocking on their door and confronted them about the incident, and that Kyle stepped up and paid him off with $100,000 out of his trust fund. Summer won’t be incredibly shocked by the story, but she’ll be sickened that the father actually took the money from Kyle.
Summer will also be irked that Theo’s been holding this over Kyle’s head, just because he can’t move on and wants to hold a grudge. Theo will try to explain that he can’t stand it that Kyle returned to be Genoa City’s “golden boy” and wants to erase his past. Summer will think that Theo should move on like an adult, and she’ll promptly walk out on him.
Later, after a run-in with Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) at Crimson Lights, Theo will hop on his phone and ominously look up Zoe’s profile on the “FacePlace” social media site.
Although it’s great to finally know Kyle and Theo’s big secret, one wonders why this is something that Kyle would feel that he needs to hide from Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle). Obviously, it’s not something that Lola would be happy about, and it might have taken some work for she and Kyle to work through it, but it seems like it would have been easier for Kyle to just come clean rather than deal with Theo’s nonsense over it. Could there be more to the secret that Theo didn’t tell Summer?
Meanwhile, on the new episode of Y&R on Thursday, August 15, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) will spend some time together. They’ll bump into each other at Crimson Lights and wind up talking like they used to. Rey will be feeling nervous about Lola’s upcoming wedding and “losing” his little sister, and Sharon will sufficiently calm him down.
Rey will express concern for Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) and how she’s doing in the wake of their breakup, which will touch Sharon. The two will manage to avoid talking about
Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and focus on happier topics, which probably explains why their conversation will go so well.
Of course, whether their positive interaction is the beginning of the reconciliation process for these two remains to be seen. Things probably won’t go so well when the time comes to discuss what Sharon was doing at Adam’s penthouse so early in the morning when Rey stopped by. Rey might not be so understanding and civil when he realizes that Adam and Sharon slept together.
