The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Thursday, August 8 Review - Kyle’s Criminal Past - Chelsea Stalls Telling Connor About Adam

The Young and the Restless spoilers review for Thursday, August 8, tease that tempers will flare at the bachelor/bachelorette party for Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). The evening will start out with a relatively small conflict, as Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) bump into each other. They’ll experience a few minutes of awkwardness, but soon Sharon will bolt from the party, resolving things.

Later, more drama will ensue, as Summer Newman (Hunter King) and Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) arrive at the party. Theo will have promised Summer that he wouldn’t cause problems for the evening, but he’ll prove (again) to be untrustworthy. Kyle will intercept him and try to get him to leave, but after Lola intervenes, Kyle will agree to let him stay.

Unfortunately, that will prove to be a mistake, as Theo will decide to take over the microphone after Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) speech to Kyle and Lola and give a little speech of his own. He’ll address the couple and talk about his friend Kyle. He’ll say that it’s as if Kyle’s life began when he met Lola, and he’ll wish that people could have seen he Kyle he used to know.

After so much of this, Kyle will take over the microphone and wrap up Theo’s speech, then he’ll pull Theo off to the side and ask him what’s wrong with him. They’ll argue, and Theo will express that he’s not happy about being cut out of Kyle’s life, and Kyle will insist that their friendship is over. Ultimately, Theo will say that he’s tired of Kyle’s sanctimonious crap and he won’t let him forget who he used to be.

Importantly, Theo will refer to a “similar night” many years ago, and how Kyle needs to “get over it,” prompting Kyle to replay that “she was only 17 and could have died.” Theo will point out that everything ended up turning out fine, but Kyle will say that Theo wasn’t the one who “paid off her father.”

So, it seems from these details that Kyle and Theo’s excessive partying and womanizing in the past must have had a serious impact on someone’s life – someone who was underage at the time. Could there have been an accident or perhaps an overdose involving one of Kyle and Theo’s party mates? And did Kyle pay off her father to avoid legal action?

Well, as it turns out, Kyle and Theo’s argument won’t be the only altercation at the party. Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) and Summer will have a cat fight after they start arguing about Summer’s attitude about the party. They’ll trade the usual insults over each other’s love lives and start shoving each other. But things will really get heated when Summer overturns an ice bucket all over Abby, and Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) has to physically separate them.

Meanwhile, on the new episode of Y&R on Thursday, August 8, Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) and Anita Lawson (Catherine Bach) will arrive at Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) house. Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will be thrilled to reunite with Connor, but she won’t be as happy with all of her mother’s pointed questions.

While Connor’s out of the room, Anita will grill Chelsea about her relationship with Nick and wonder about why she’s not with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), since they used to be in

such love. Chelsea will explain that she and Nick are just friends and that Adam is no longer the person she knew. They’ll discuss money, and Chelsea will offer her mother a million dollars of the money she received from Calvin Boudreau (John Burke) death.

But Anita will refuse the money, much to Chelsea’s surprise. Chelsea will wonder what’s going on, but before they can discuss the matter, Connor will return, and Anita will leave them so they can talk. Chelsea and Connor will then talk a bit about Calvin before Chelsea broaches the subject of staying in Genoa City rather than going back home to Louisiana. Connor, who seems pretty perceptive, will wonder why they’d want to live here.

Of course, that gives Chelsea the perfect opportunity to tell Connor about Adam being alive. But will she go there? Or will we see a situation where Connor and Adam just happen to bump into each other and Adam spills the beans, like he did with Christian Newman (Alex Wilson)? Chelsea needs to get in front of this situation quickly!
