The Young and the Restless spoilers recap for Thursday, October 3, tease that Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will be busy dealing with problems at Newman Enterprises as a result of Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) faked death. She’ll lament to Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) that she thinks Newman is in real trouble. Nikki will still be planning a Newman family dinner later that evening, as a means of healing the family.
Meanwhile, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will try to step up by taking Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) to see Victor, but Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will nix that plan. Connor will still be upset by the death ruse, as he lets his mom know in no uncertain terms that he wishes they had never come back to Genoa City.
Summer Newman (Hunter King) will still be irked by the death ruse herself, as she and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) talk in the park. Summer will think that the Newman family thinks of her as an afterthought, and Phyllis will suggest a girls’ night to cheer her up, which will suit Summer just fine, since she has no intention of going to the Newman family dinner. Later, Victoria and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will have a picnic to help Victoria de-stress, and they’ll talk about Billy’s breakdown and subsequent progress.
At The Grand Phoenix, Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) and Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) will be enjoying each other’s company when Chelsea comes along. One thing will lead to another and Chelsea will end up hiring Chloe as a marketing director for the hotel. Once Chloe leaves, Chelsea will corner Kevin and mention her inheritance from Calvin Boudreau (John Burke), including a portion of the money that needs a good wash.
She’ll press Kevin to launder the money for her, but he won’t take her up on it immediately. However, when she offers him 10%, he’ll accept. Later, Phyllis and Summer will arrive to talk to Chelsea about another collaboration between The Grand Phoenix and Jabot, which Chelsea will agree to. Talk will turn to the Newman ruse, and eventually Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) will show up and make an apology to Summer and Phyllis.
Across, town, Nick will chat with Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) at his penthouse. Nick will attempt to explain why it was necessary to deceive Devon and everyone else about Victor’s death, and talk will turn to Chelsea being particularly upset by the deception. Devon will think that perhaps Nick should show Chelsea how he feels. They’ll also discuss the issues surrounding Katherine Chancellor’s (Jeanne Cooper) will and the opening of a New Hope building. After Nick goes, Devon will call Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) to meet later.
At Crimson Lights, Kevin and Chloe will reconnect, and Kevin will broach the subject of laundering money for Chelsea. Chloe will be surprised, but ultimately she’ll say that she trusts him. Phyllis will then show up and ask Kevin if he knows where Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) is. Kevin will think that Phyllis should quit thinking about Adam, since Adam’s likely not thinking about her. Later, Phyllis will leave Adam a message to call her back.
Finally, Chelsea will arrive home to find Nick there waiting for her. He’ll have a romantic setup arranged and he’ll want Chelsea to give him another chance. He’ll offer her a massage and try to kiss her neck, but Chelsea will give him the big freeze out. She’ll indicate loud and clear that making up isn’t going to be that easy.
