The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update and recap for Tuesday, July 2, tease that Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan) will realize Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) lurking. In Chancellor Park, Chelsea will call for Nick to come out from behind the bushes. He’ll appear and confess that he wanted to make sure she was all right.
Chelsea will appreciate Nick’s warning about Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), especially considering how things ended for “Chick.” Nick will note that Chelsea broke his heart, but he still cares. After Chelsea apologizes, she’ll hope Nick can find a way to forgive her.
Nick will assure Chelsea that he gets her lack of trust now. He’ll ultimately offer to let Chelsea see Christian Newman (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen), so she’ll chat with Christian at the carnival later. When Christian remembers Connor Newman (Gunner and Ryder Gadbois) and his mommy, Chelsea will suggest you don’t forget the people you love most.
At Dark Horse, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will rip into Adam for hiring Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) to kidnap her. Adam will clarify that Kevin did it on his own, so Phyllis will direct her rage toward Kevin once again.
However, Adam will insist that Kevin has made himself useful. He’ll note that Kevin is on their team now, but he’ll refuse to share why Kevin’s doing his dirty work. Phyllis will turn her attention to a gathering she wants to have – and she’ll insist Adam’s going to host it.
Other Young and the Restless spoilers say Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will battle his nerves. At Society, he’ll be worried about trying to make a good impression. Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) will feel confident that her mom’s going to love Kyle, so she’ll do her best to reassure him.
Soon after, Celeste Rosales (Eva LaRue) will walk in and greet the pair with hugs. She’ll chat with Kyle about his job, but he’ll put the spotlight back on Lola. Celeste will insist on staying at Lola’s place while she’s in town, which is a problem since she doesn’t know Kyle lives there, too. Kyle will note that he can get the place ready for Celeste, so Lola will hand him her keys to keep up the charade.
Y&R spoilers state that Kyle will bump into Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) outside. He’ll recruit her for his mission to erase all signs of masculinity from the apartment. Mariah will think Kyle and Lola should just come clean, but he’ll push her to do less talking and more working. They’ll manage to make it a Kyle-free zone with the exception of an “Ask My Girlfriend” hat.
Mariah will put it on at the last second, so she’ll face Celeste’s questions. Luckily, Mariah indeed has a girlfriend. She’ll mention that Celeste met Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) at the shower. After Mariah dashes off, Celeste will tell Kyle and Lola that she intends to stay in town until after the wedding. That’ll leave “Kola” to whisper about their predicament when Celeste steps out of the room.
Kyle will think maybe they should be honest with Celeste about living together. Once Celeste returns, she’ll have Lola and Kyle’s book of wedding plans. Celeste will insist on pitching in and meeting the famous Abbott family.
At Adam’s penthouse, he’ll deliver more orders to Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart). The Young and the Restless spoilers say Adam will want Chelsea followed. He’ll also want to know the name of Connor’s summer camp, but Kevin will object. Adam will remind Kevin that he has the power to have Chloe locked up.
At Nick’s house, he’ll go over the Christian custody battle with Chelsea. She’ll note that Adam wants Connor back as well, but she’ll understand her ex’s motives.
Nick will think they have to join forces to stop Adam. Talk will turn to sweet Calvin and the fact that Chelsea doesn’t plan on staying in town. Nick will at least want to take Chelsea out to dinner, so she’ll point out that she’s free this evening.
Back at the carnival, Summer Newman (Hunter King) will hang out with Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson). She’ll make it clear that marriage isn’t her thing – at least not after her mistake with Kyle. Once they emerge from the fun house, Summer will delete some messages from Phyllis and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson).
As for shunned Phyllis, she’ll head to the carnival by herself to play some games. Adam will receive a surprising visitor. It’ll be Calvin Boudreau (John Burke), Chelsea’s new husband, and he’ll think it’s time for them to talk. Adam invites Calvin in but there’s a tension in the air that doesn’t appear to bode well for Chelsea’s new husband!
