The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Tuesday, September 3, tease that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will see a surprising sight: Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) pleasant chat at Society. Phyllis will warn that Jack had better be careful when it comes to Victor. She’ll think Jack might end up with a knife in his back!
However, Jack’s conversation with Victor will remain a friendly one. It’ll even lead to some good advice for Jack. Victor will realize Jack’s feeling a void in his life. He’ll mention that he’s been there before, but leaving town for a while helped him. Y&R spoilers say Jack will eventually decide that’s the right idea, so he’ll plan to drop a bomb on Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).
In the meantime, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) will bump into Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) at the coffeehouse. They’ll discuss Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) before talk turns to Adam’s love for Sharon and Christian Newman (Alex Wilson). Adam will hate that he lost both of them, and he’ll wish Sharon would just admit that she wants him.
As Adam exits, Sharon will notice Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) standing nearby. Rey will hint that Sharon can open up to him if she wants, but she’ll choose to head out instead. At Kyle and Lola Abbott’s (Sasha Calle) place, the shower will break down just before Kyle gets frisky with his new wife. When Rey shows up soon after, he’ll confide about Sharon’s pain over Adam and how it’s adding to his misery.
Despite appreciating Lola’s sympathy, Rey will think it’s best if he takes off and lets them get back to what they were doing. Once they’re alone, Lola will suggest maybe it’s time to move. Between all the repairs and the heartbreaking reminders for Rey, it’s probably for the best. Kyle will agree, so it’s good that they’ll be on the same page.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say that won’t be the only big decision reached on Tuesday. Kyle will be stunned when Jack announces that he’s taking a step back at Jabot. He’ll ask Kyle to be the company’s interim CEO, so his son will get on board. Jack will feel confident that Kyle will make him proud.
Afterward, Jack will get in his car and hit the road. He’ll imagine a young John Abbott (Jonathan Stoddard) in the backseat asking him where they’re headed to. Jack won’t know yet, but he’ll promise to let his dad know when they get there.
Back with Sharon, she’ll also have a trip in mind. Sharon will pay Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) a visit to discuss needing to get out of Genoa City for a while. Nick will agree to let Sharon take Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) with her after the Grand Phoenix opening. He’ll think it’d be better for Sharon to avoid the Adam crossfire that’s brewing anyway. Sharon will think she can find her purpose and pursue it when she returns.
Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will also stop by Nick’s house on Tuesday. Y&R spoilers say she’ll be wary of Chloe, but she’ll hope the trust that’s being given to her pans out. Nikki will also get updates on Nick and Chelsea Newman’s (Melissa Claire Egan) reunion. She’ll think it seems awfully fast, but Nick will assure his mom that he’s content.
Nick will add that he doesn’t intend to get in the way of Adam and Connor Newman’s (Judah Mackey) bond. Still, Nick will be prepared for a battle if Adam wants one. He’ll definitely be keeping an eye on his brother. After Nikki returns home, Victor will cozy up to her and reflect on what a lucky man he is.
Back with Phyllis, she’ll be approached by Zoe Hardisty (Anna Grace Barlow) about sabotaging the Grand Phoenix opening. Zoe will think they should team up, but Phyllis will shut down that plan. She’ll argue that Zoe’s way out of her league when it comes to going up against Chelsea and Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway).
Zoe will also get Lola to pose for a selfie at one point. That move will leave Kyle taken aback, so it’s clear that Zoe still has some tricks up her sleeve. As long as Zoe’s in town, she’s a threat to Kyle and Lola’s happiness.
Other Young and the Restless spoilers say Adam won’t be in the mood to deal with Phyllis. He’ll tell her to shut up after she pesters him about their payback plan. Adam won’t think Phyllis gets what he’s dealing with, but she’ll think she understands better than anyone. Phyllis will leave Adam alone for now, but more plotting is in their future.
Finally, Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) will reflect on Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) and what receiving her inheritance meant to him. He still won’t know what aspects of the will are being challenged or why this person waited so long. Devon will definitely be concerned, but Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) will promise they can tackle this together.
