The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update and recap for Wednesday, July 3, tease that Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) will be summoned for a meeting. They’ll head over to Newman Enterprises and assume this involves bad health news. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will confess that he’s started a new experimental protocol that was recommended by Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic).
When Victoria grills Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) about the side effects, Nikki won’t divulge anything. As for Victor, he’ll let Victoria and Abby know how much their support means to him. At Society, Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan) will get grilled about her recent past. Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will want to know what Chelsea did once she left town.
Chelsea will mention meeting up with her mom, Anita Lawson (Catherine Bach), in Louisiana after a few months. She’ll ultimately reveal that Calvin Boudreau (John Burke) dated Anita for a while, but he wound up with her instead. Nick will feel like Chelsea deserted the life they’d built together. He’ll just wish Chelsea had trusted him, so she’ll once again apologize.
Nick will ask what Chelsea hoped to accomplish with her visit to GC. Suddenly, Calvin will walk up and suggest he’d like to know the answer as well. Chelsea will be sorry for not keeping Calvin in the loop on her plans. She’ll contend that she had to know where things stood with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).
Calvin will assure Nick that there’s no need to fret about Chelsea or Connor Newman (Gunner and Ryder Gadbois) now. After Chelsea and Nick say their goodbyes, she’ll head out with Calvin. At Dark Horse, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will get on the phone and deliver instructions on her new penthouse. It’s supposed to be ready and waiting for her within a month.
At Crimson Lights, Summer Newman (Hunter King) will get some help sobering up. Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) will hand over a cup of coffee as Summer gloats about being such an asset at Jabot. After an irritated Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) texts about Summer’s tardiness, Theo will urge Summer to get to the office ASAP.
Y&R spoilers say Summer will go on a tirade about Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) instead. After failing to stop Summer’s ex obsessing, Theo will decide to bail. At Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) penthouse, he’ll be pleased to see Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) settling in more. Devon will note that Elena’s welcome to make changes and suggest having a picture of her mom around would be nice.
Next, The Young and the Restless spoilers say Devon will reveal plans for their date night. He’ll hint that they’re going back in time, which Elena will later learn means a trip to the carnival. Victor and Nikki will talk about the love in their family before they run into the happy new couple. They’ll joke around with them since Devon won an itty-bitty bear and Elena won a giant one.
Once they arrive back at the penthouse, Elena will place his prize bear next to a framed photo of Devon, Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) and Lily Ashby (Christel Khalil). Devon will call tonight their second first date and suggest that looking at the bear will help him remember it. While they lock lips, Victoria will pay Phyllis a visit at Dark Horse. It won’t take long for conflict to erupt.
Phyllis will feel confident that she’s going to make Dark Horse the most powerful company in Genoa City. Victoria will contend that Phyllis’ lack of experience has already hurt her. She’ll mention a new acquisition and leave Phyllis wondering if Victoria was targeting her or Adam.
Back at Crimson Lights, Summer will remain in a drunken state. Phyllis will bump into her daughter and insist on taking care of her. They’ll wind up at Phyllis’ suite, where Summer will rant about Theo being problematic. After Summer apologizes for getting so angry before, she’ll snuggle up to her emotional mom and fall asleep.
