The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Wednesday, October 2 Review - Victor’s Death Ruse Ruins Nick - Billy & Kyle To Run Jabot

The Young and the Restless spoilers review for Wednesday, October 2, tease that both Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will struggle with the fallout from their decision to fake Victor’s death. Victor will be distraught that Summer Newman (Hunter King) won’t return his calls, and he’ll lament to Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) that he’s caused a rift between the people who knew about the ruse and the people who didn’t.

And Nick will face some serious backlash from his children over his decision to let them grieve their grandfather. Faith Newman (Alivia Alyn Lind) will refuse to talk to Nick by phone, and Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) will tell him in no uncertain terms that he made a terrible move by deceiving her. And Summer will totally blast Nick for his deception. She’ll say that she felt like she was being treated like a little kid – or worse, like an outsider. Nick will try to explain himself, but there won’t be anything he can say to smooth things over.

Nick’s relationship with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) is also taking a big hit. Chelsea could probably get past the fact that Nick lied to her, but she’s furious that Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) has been caught in the crossfire. On Wednesday’s episode, Chelsea will attempt to explain to Connor that Victor is alive, and in doing so she’ll be forced to tell him that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) knew Victor was alive before he left town, which will send Connor into a tailspin.

Chelsea will blame Nick for Connor’s pain, and so Nick’s attempts to smooth things over with her won’t go well, either. Chelsea will stop short of leaving Nick, but she’ll really give him the cold shoulder and won’t accept his comfort or his help with Connor – rather, she’ll want him away from Connor, since he caused Connor’s problems to begin with.

It’s hard to imagine anything really helping Nick or Victor to make peace with the people they deceived, at least for a while. It looks like Summer is going to be a problem for both men for a while, as she keeps her distance and refuses to trust them again. Nikki seems to think that a family get-together where everyone can voice their concerns will do them all good, but it’s looking doubtful that even this will help.

Meanwhile, on the new episode of Y&R on Wednesday, October 2, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will return to work at Jabot after his dual-personality episode and breakthrough. He will come back with everyone assuming that he was out in rehab for his gambling addiction, but as he’s talking privately with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), he’ll decide to tell him the truth about his alternate personality and what went down at the boat house.

Later, Jack will gather Billy and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) with a very big announcement about the future of Jabot. Billy will assume that Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) must be making sinister changes behind the scenes, but Jack will relay that Ashley is perfectly happy running things in Europe. He’ll announce that he’ll be stepping back and will no longer be involved in the day-to-day operations at Jabot.

Billy and Kyle will be surprised, but both will be willing to step up and run the company together, which is what Jack will want. He’ll note that he’s going to step back to focus on writing the Abbott family story with Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland). It should be interesting to see just how well Billy and Kyle get along sharing the top spot at Jabot – after all, Billy has been the sole CEO in charge of the company before, and Kyle has had a taste of that position here recently.

Of course, Billy will have plenty of other things in his life to work on given the intense work he’s doing in therapy right now, so sharing the spotlight with Kyle will probably be just about right for him at this time. Still, there could be conflict between Billy and Kyle – we’ll see just how smoothly things go when Jack’s not there to make the big decisions.
